I can't be the only one that was thoroughly unimpressed. One of the weirdest, allover movies I have ever seen. I wouldn't say weird in a good way. The plot never really pulled me in and I was kind of looking for the next plot point, not to gobble it up, but moreso to catch on to something. I didn't see much comedy, though it got a few good laughs out of me. Dude's wardrobe is actually pretty cool if you look at it. But I'm not a fan of entering the world of a 'bum'. I suppose I like movies that take me somewhere else, to an interesting setting or plot-line. Which this provided neither. Maybe I'm also one of the few that hates the annoying character like Walter -- it creates frustration and annoyance if you ask me. His whole role is annoying - although Goodman plays it well. The movie doesn't really offer great cinematography or storytelling, though some sets / locations / houses are cool. It's really just a bunch of elements thrown / mixed together - and if you're looking for that, something like 'The Hangover', 'The Dictator', or 'The Interview' nails that much better. Hailed as one of the best movies of all time - I quite frankly don't see it. However if you check my reviews, you may find I tend to not enjoy movies others do, and enjoy movies others don't -- maybe it's a trend.
