The staff at Hotel City Palazzo die Cardinali were exceptional! So kind and helpful. Accommodations were lovely & rooms were recently renovated. Centrally located and near the Spanish Steps. Rooms were larger than most boutique hotels. As they were in the midst of remodeling their kitchen, our included breakfast was still offered at a nearby Coffee Shop...just steps away from the front door of the hotel. And there was far more than just breakfast items. Nice way to start the day, or even use the certificates for later in the day if you liked. Complimentary walking tours were also included daily. This was a big surprise, and so worthwhile! Virgilio was our tour leader, and he was so knowledgeable and passionate about Rome and the work he does. Truly enjoyable. My traveling partner's luggage did not arrive on the plane with her. So the reception staff worked feverishly to help us locate the luggage and bring my friend some piece of mind. I would definitely return to this hotel, for all the above reasons and more!

We spent 3 nights at this hotel. Location is great, and main attractions are within walking distance. Room was a bit tiny from what we expected ( pictures on the website) but very clean, and you don’t actually spend much time at the hotel if you want to visit the city. Breakfast was ok, on our last day they made fresh scrambled eggs and bacon which I loved, Usually they are on the buffet table but they get cold. Staff is amazing , super helpful. Thank you again!

NIce cozy hotel with very friedly staff. Hotel has smallish rooms and we were not satisfied with pillows (we like fluffier ones) but otherwise rooms were perfect, quiet and clean. Rooms were bit worn out and renovation maybe needed but thats not an issue.
Breakfast variety is limited but with open mind all enough and good, as was service during breakfast. For a short stay a perfect choice.

The hotel is situated in the best possible location!!! The room was simple and clean, with fresh towels everyday.During our stay, the hotel was under renovation but the staff, reception and breakfast room ,were SUCH INCREDIBLE PROFESSIONALS that we didn't really care about any noise or dust around us.Sometimes it's more than just a building. The staff in this hotel is what makes the difference!!!Thank you for everything!

The hotel is in an old building with lots of character and the location is perfect!
The Spanish Steps and a Metro Station are within 5 minutes walk.

Reception is on the 2nd floor and I think signage could be a little clearer, but I figured it out after reading the various notes on the walls.

The reception team are brilliant! A warm welcome and my room was ready early so got to check in when I was only expecting to drop my bags.
Full of helpful information I was given info on how to get around the city and see attractions close by. I got the impression that the team here love what they do, congratulations on great service.

The rooms was a decent size, they are basic but comfortable.
No tea/coffee making facilities but that may just be the norm in Rome hotels. It also forces you to enjoy the coffee culture in Rome and an amazing pastry in one of the bar/cafes.

The lift is brilliantly old fashioned but not sure a standard wheelchair would fit as it’s very small. Worth checking if you need this facility.

With some extra touches in the room, and clearer signage on arrival, I’d have scored a 5 instead of a 4. Definitely worth staying here.

The location of the hotel is priceless. Right between the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps you can do a lot of sightseeing by foot. If you need public transport you will find 2 metro stations and various bus stops in a 5 minute radius.
I booked a single room which was a bit small but with a huge bathroom, a/c, safe, fridge and everything you need to survive a hot Roman summer. The elevator is a bit tricky as you need to use the official lift to get to the reception which is on the first floor. But once you are in the hotel you will find a separate lift for the guests only.
I recommend this hotel if you are looking for an accommodation in a great location.

A good location to base your visit - easy walking distance to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. Room was clean and comfortable. Friendly reception staff happy to help and give advice. The change being made to provide for a breakfast area within the hotel is good. Be aware that availability of taxi services are a challenge at busy times and traffic can be heavy so if you have a tour planned at the Colosseum for 09:00 allow plenty of time to get there - even though in theory it is only a 10-15 minute ride.

Dear Simonh, thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We are glad to know that you enjoyed your stay with us, and happy to inform you that the breakfast room is finally open and ready, and it's possible now to check online for rates including breakfast. We agree with you that is not easy to get a taxi in Rome especially in the morning and late afternoon. For this reason, to come and go form/to the airport we can provide a private car service that it's much easier to book, asking at the concierge. We are looking forward to your next stay at Hotel City. Best regards, Hotel City Staff

Located 3mins away from the Spanish Steps this hotel ticks all the boxes. Great breakfast, very kind and helpful staff, awesome value for your money. The Hotel itself is nothing incredible but you won't be staying inside much when in Rome so nothing to worry about. Although basic, the hotel is honestly spotless. Couldn't be happier with my choice.

The moment we arrived, we were greeted by Andrea and Gabrielle. They were so helpful in every aspect of our stay. They gave us directions, suggestions and even helped to schedule an event. They were both so personable and engaging. Louisette, who was at the desk in the afternoon was also very warm and friendly.
Be sure and take advantage of some of the wonderful tours, that the hotel offers to their guests, free of charge!, Virgilio is an art major at the University of Rome, and he has such a wealth of knowledge and information about all things related to Roman art and history.!,
I also wanted to mention that this hotel serves a wonderful breakfast to start your day, and the staff in the dining room were awesome.
We will hopefully return again to Rome, sometime in the future, and definitely return to Palazzo Dei Cardinal for our stay!,

Outstanding from start to finish. Hotel arranged transfers to & from hotel (at additional charge). Nothing was too much trouble. Upgraded our parents for their 50th wedding anniversary. The 2 rooms we had were showroom standards. Beautifully decorated. Stocked mini bar should you require it. Great quality pillows, towels, robes & slippers.
Their website pictures doesn't do it justice, it has all been recently updated & is absolutely stunning. Great selection at breakfast buffet, scrambled eggs, pastries, fruit, cereal, bread, & tea, coffee.
Safe, central location, a Short Walking distance from Spanish steps & Trevi Fountain.
It is my 3rd visit to Rome & truely the nicest hotel we found.
Would happily recommend to friends & family.

Dear Mr LorGer, Thank you for choosing our hotel and appreciating our services, especially the continental breakfast buffet. Also, as you pointed out, the location of the hotel is perfect to reach within a short walk numerous tourist attractions, such as The Trevi fountain, Spanish steps, Pantheon, and Piazza Navona. As you mentioned, the hotel is newly renovated, but we tried to keep the charm of this ancient historical palace while refreshing the style and decor with new furniture, new beds and matrasses, and new in-room services. We are glad that you appreciated the room upgrade, we always try to meet our guests' needs, and we are keen to to upgrades whenever daily availability allows us to. We look forward to having you here again and hopefully, your friends and family will love our hotel as much as you do. Best Regards - Palazzo dei Cardinali Staff.

We had all our transport arranged through our booking of our holiday, I would suggest that you try that. There are plenty of taxis at the airport, who seemed to have fixed rates, I would confirm with them before using, or contact the hotel direct they may be able to help.
