Includes titles in the announcement for August 2024 releases and streaming films added to the Criterion Channel in May 2024.
This list includes:
• All films released on physical media (laserdisc, DVD, BD, and UHD) by the Criterion Collection, including those that are currently out-of-print or have been announced for future release
• All films released in the Eclipse series on DVD
• All supplements that appeared on physical media released in the Criterion Collection which were not original to the Criterion release
• All films that streamed on Hulu, FilmStruck, or the Criterion Channel with the Criterion Collection/Janus Films opening logo
It does not include:
• Films released on the Rolling Thunder and Merchant Ivory Collection labels
• Films which were produced by the Criterion Collection and appeared on either their physical releases or streaming services
• Films which were streamed on the Criterion Channel (regardless of the platform), but did not carry the Criterion Collection/Janus Films opening logo
• Films which were excerpted in the Criterion release, unless a substantial portion was included
There are currently 144 films in the Criterion Collection which, for various reasons, don't have records on Letterboxd. That includes 58 alternate versions of films (see this list), and 54 music videos. The remaining 32 films are either relatively short excerpts from a longer film or films made for television and promotional featurettes which currently do not have records on Letterboxd.
Note: Even though there are Letterboxd records for the anthologies by Stan Brakhage and Jean Painlevé, and the collection of films about Martha Graham, I have not included them in this list because there are records for their individual films in the database. I also consider Krzysztof Kieślowski's Dekalog to be a singular work, so I only include the one record for all ten episodes ("The Decalogue").
