The drinks were awesome. My husband had “The thinker” and I had the “pink Fiz” (minus the grapefruit juice) both very good. We ordered the spinach balls that everyone raves about...we thought they were edible. Just a big ball of spinach. We did order the...“pizza of the month” and it was amazing! Chicken, pesto, ricotta and sundried tomatoes. Omg! The crust was thin and crispy but not overdone. Our waitress was nice but when my husband complain his “hot water” wasn’t hot for his tea..her attitude changed. Overall nice place and atmosphere for pizza and drink.More

Fifth Element is doing a great job of providing outdoor dining options during the pandemic. Tonight 4 of us enjoyed cocktails and a lovely dinner at a table at the breezy open windows in the front of the restaurant, while an entirely open new section...has been added in an area to the side of the restaurant on Broadway — they’re calling it the Outer Element. The hefty mussels appetizer is a neighborhood favorite and our friends shared it and a margherita pizza. I enjoyed the falafel patty on what I assumed was quinoa, and loved it with extra Tzatziki sauce. My husband liked the chicken sandwich with fries (tho it had a lot of sauce). The menu here is varied and casual, with something to please everyone. I was happy to see that they were doing quite a good business on a Wednesday night, considering how many fewer tables restaurants can have now. Broadway is full of interesting restaurants frequented by a lot of locals, and it can be a lifesaver for tourists spaced out of the more obvious downtown restaurants.More

We came here to eat based on recommendations from friends and based on the fact that this restaurant took great care to be safe with everything happening, and we were not disappointed. They have good outdoor seating and everyone was careful about physical distancing. The...food was outstanding. We loved the tempura asparagus, tofu pho, ricotta and fresh thyme gnocchi, and the creamy cheesecake. Staff were friendly and polite.More

We were drawn to the Fifth Element based on its rave reviews and intriguing cocktail menu. The restaurant does have an interesting vibe and decor and a great wait staff. We ordered a couple of their craft cocktails which were, frankly, underwhelming. I ordered a...Mexican Short Rib, my husband a Rye Knot. We both felt they were just unbalanced. We had the Hummus and Burrata appetizer, which was excellent, then had pretty basic entrees (salad with chickpea patty and seared scallops). Finished with the tiramisu, which was quite good. Overall, an enjoyable experience, but not exceptional.More

We loved our meal at Fifth Element! How nice to find such great food and be away from the tourists (says the tourist from SF). We started with the Thai Shrimp Nachos. Sooo good! Red Thai curry with jalapeños and perfectly cooked shrimp with fried...won tons. So creative. Beet salad was excellent. Perfect balance of salt fat acid. Short rib pizza was also a big hit. It was flavorful without the the high fat of a sausage or pepperoni pizza. Salmon sandwich with bacon and fries was also tasty. Excellent fries. Service was also really good. Always nice to have the owner ask what you think and really listen.More

We really like this place and love that not much has changed under new ownership. It has a great vibe, and the food is always creative, and really good. The spinach balls are always a great go-to app. And their drinks are always really good...too - you can tell they care a lot about what they put in front of you. We've been here many times and plan to keep going backMore

It was really good! There was a wide variety of items on the menu. The Brussels sprouts with maple syrup and tahini and sesame seeds was such a great combo. The lamb poutine with roasted garlic cheese and cheese curds was excellent. They have half-price...tacos on Tuesdays, which is great. The shrimp tacos had this peach-mango salsa with chipotle lime aioli and it was delicious. The cola braised short rib sandwich was outstanding and the fries were crispy and great. They have a wonderful beer selection, too. The portions were pretty big and the prices were very reasonable. Good service, too.More

The food was fine but nothing special. Drinks sounded good, but we didn’t get to try them. Our server disappeared after we ordered drinks and didn’t return with them until well after we finished eating (then was snippy when we didn’t want them anymore) -...I guess when they ask if you want drinks first that’s your only chance. I suspect they were busier than the staff could handle that night, but I won’t be going back to find out.More

This is one of the best local restaurants in Newport. From the host to bartender and all the wait staff- everyone is amazing and friendly. The food is great! I recommend the salmon, the fall salad, as well as the steak. Great portions and reasonable...as compared to other restaurants whose food is substandard. I love the local vibe, as well as the open space. There's live music a couple nights a week so definitely check this place out! ErinMore

The group that claimed to be treated badly because of the color of their skin was treated badly because they were badly behaved. They were members of the privileged white class. They were disruptive and rude and refused to obey the laws of Rhode Island....Brad was amazingly calm and tried to make the dining experience for the rest of us pleasant. Kudos to the Fifth Element for amazing food, staff and keeping us safe.More

Enjoyed the atmosphere in the restaurant even though the noise was a little loud. Had a variety of dinners with plenty of food to share, even gluten free. Drinks were very good with a wide variety of beers. Everyone was full after our meals.

Always a good spot for drinks and/or dinner. We went for dinner, and as always, it was very good. Service is always good, and atmosphere is lively, but not over the top. And their drinks and selection is always really good too.

If I could rate this restaurant a zero, I would!! RACIST MANAGEMENT!! We were a party of 8 from CT (middle easterners) and as soon as we walked in, the management treated us disrespectfully. The manager first approached us when one of the members of...our party greeted the other with a hug, which was at our table, because he didn't have a mask on. Next, we were reprimanded by the bartender, who came over to our table and asked us to change the subject of our conversation, which was a heated debate about Genocide. Finally, one of our members of our party went our for a cigarette and the manager told him he could not go back in the restaurant - because he was smoking on the side of the curb. When he re-entered the establishment, the owner called the police!!!! NEVER, EVER have we been treated this poorly as paying customers, who were minding our own business and enjoying each other's company. The management looked down on us, and were demeaning. No way to treat paying customers. Will never, ever think about coming back.More

Yes, it would be a great place for 8 people to dine. Remember it is somewhat of a modern pizza bistro. They offer more than pizza but the menu is rather simple. As for noise, I would call the restaurant "active" but by no... More
