How far does Walmart deliver?

I live 8.8 miles away from my closest Walmart Supercenter and it is not allowing me to select as an option. I checked and my neighbor 6 homes down is 8.7 miles away, and selecting that address does allow me to select delivery.

Did I hit the limit at 8.8 miles or are there other hidden considerations? Any ways around it? Would love to use delivery if there was a way.

Jesus Christ, I followed the link from the Internet to this question. I would not see the top pinned post. Just answer the fucking question assholes.....

I agree but thats what minimum wage does to a person.

u/Due-Hat-1484 avatar

Walmart pays above minimum wage

Yeah here’s the thing it’s above our pay grade we work being paid by the hour and most of us shop after we clock out and then go home. So we don’t know.

Then I'm not talking to you. If I'm talking to people about attendance and you're always there, I'm not talking to you. You get what I'm saying?

u/Infinite_Incident767 avatar

I did answer the question and your the one throwing names around and being rude.

u/Infinite_Incident767 avatar

It depends on the location and what store, you would have to call the store and ask.

Is there a rule saying this sub is not meant for customers?

u/Majik518 avatar

Yes, it's literally the top pinned post.

u/Ill_Ad_6475 avatar

It says that this is not a place for customers to complain. It very much does not say that customers cannot comment on anything else.

Very odd not to make that clear and then come and complain in the responses.

u/Majik518 avatar

This is not a customer service sub. Associates are off the clock and not your slaves. Call a customer service line with your pointless questions.

It's store specific. I deliver for spark and I've delivered orders 10-13 miles from the store. But my house is 11 miles and I can't get delivery from another store in the same zone.

A post on this question mentions Walmart delivers for free. According to Walmart.com, free delivery is only available to "Walmart+" customers under certain circumstances. Walmart + Customers are also indicated as W+ and are those customers that have paid an annual fee to get various benefits, such as free delivery with minimum order, free shipping with no minimum order, discount gas and auto care, early access to specials, returns from home, free Pluto TV, and more.
I actually do not know if becoming a Walmart+ Customer might open up delivery to you. Also, deliveries from Supercenters seem more widespread and available than from regular Walmart stores.

You can check if you can become a Walmart+ customer and the benefits offered by becoming one when you log in to your Walmart.com page to go shopping. If you cannot become a Walmart+ Customer, it is a safe bet you cannot get delivery. You can also check each page for each item you want to buy online to verify if delivery is available or not for that item.

When you shop Walmart.com you should be able to see options on how you can receive each item in 2 different places on each page.

  1. At the top of the item's page, there is a link below the Walmart Logo in the upper LEFT top corner. It is a link starting with an icon of a blue Walmart shopping bag with groceries in it, followed by the word Delivery OR the words "How do you want your items?", then that is followed by a down arrow indicating a drop-down menu. Click that link to show the links to the ways to receive the item form your Walmart store. If you get all 3, there will be 3 links: Shipping, Pickup, Delivery.

  2. You can also see that information on the right side of the page below both the price of the item and the link to add it to your cart.

When your item is not available by one of those 3 methods, the method to receive it is greyed out, a reason printed, and you are unable to choose it. Of course, if all 3 links are not visible that is a clear indication of what is available to you.

A quick check just showed me that a Walmart brand can of pickled beets is not available to me through shipping because it is greyed out, but is available to me through Pickup or Delivery.

DETAILED INFORMATION FROM WALMART.COM! I have copied and pasted here (without all available links) all the details I could find from the original page:

Order everything from groceries to gadgets using Walmart.com or the Walmart app. Take advantage of the new features that make shopping simpler while saving you time and money.

How to get your items

You have three easy ways to get your items, all in one place:

Pickup: Reserve a time and we’ll bring your order to you curbside at a nearby store. Or you can come inside to pick it up.

Delivery: Reserve a time and we’ll bring your order to you from a store. Fees may apply.

Shipping: Get your order shipped fast via UPS or FedEx.

Pickup and Delivery from store

Select a nearby store and timeslot to pick up your items or we can deliver your order right to your home. Not all items are available for pickup and delivery.

How it works:

Visit Walmart.com or open the Walmart app.

Reserve a pickup or delivery time from the homepage.

Add items to your order.

Check out by the time displayed to keep your reservation.

If you order an item that isn’t available for pickup and delivery from your local store, we’ll ship it to you. We group shipped items separately in your cart and they ship separately from your reserved pickup or delivery order. Look for availability info on the item page and search results page.

Find what you need

Use search to find and filter all items, including groceries, by how and when you want them.

How it works:

Visit Walmart.com or open the Walmart app.

Enter an item in the Search bar at the top of your screen.

On the Search results page, filter by how and when you want to get items:

Need it fast: use this filter to show items that are available today, tomorrow, 2-days, or anytime.

Pickup & shipping: use this filter to show just the items that are available for pickup, delivery from store, or shipping.

Item availability

Walmart.com carries millions of products and gives you several convenient ways to get them.

Here’s how you can find the availability for any item:

Search for an item and use the Pickup & shipping filter to see items available by your preferred order method. Use the Need it fast filter to see items by how soon you can receive them.

Go to any item detail page to see its current availability.

Cart and checkout

We’ve combined cart and checkout for all your items, including groceries. In your cart, you can edit the way you want to get your items.

If another method is available, a link to switch the method will appear in your cart. If you don’t see a link to change, the selected method is the only one available for that item.

How it works:

Visit Walmart.com or open the Walmart app.

In your cart, review your order. If you’ve chosen a time for pickup or delivery from store, we’ll group those items together for you to review. If your order also has items only available for shipping, we’ll list those separately with their estimated arrival date.

Select Continue to checkout to place your order for everything in your cart, even if the items will arrive by separate methods.

Fees

Fees apply to some methods, and you can see any fees from your cart.

Pickup: Pick up orders over $35 for free. Orders that don’t reach the $35 minimum have a fee.

Standard Delivery from store: $9.95 delivery fee applies. Delivery is free for Walmart+ members for orders over $35. Learn about Walmart+

Shipping: Orders over $35 ship for free. Orders that don’t reach the $35 order minimum have a shipping fee. For Walmart+ members, we waive the $35 minimum.

Express delivery: $10 Express fee applies to all orders plus the $9.95 standard delivery fee applies. We waive the standard delivery fee for Walmart+ members. Learn about Walmart+

3 hr. or less delivery: $5 fee applies to all orders. $9.95 standard delivery fee applies. Below Order Minimum fee applies when order is under $35.

Below Order Minimum: $6.99 fee for orders under $35.

*In-store pickup available for select carts, dependent on item selection. Choose In-Store at checkout.

I was thinking the same thing...but when I signed up for Walmart+ the 3 Walmarts all within 15-20 minutes from me won't deliver...but (finally) instacart will, so I get Walmart groceries delivered through instacart...but it costs for delivery ...bummer....

Children children let’s put a halt to this.

I live about 10 miles from my Walmart & I’m able to get delivery. Walmart.com may know if and/or why your house is out of area.

u/Infinite_Incident767 avatar

I did some research and you could of spent a little more time looking it up but it depends on the store and how they view traveling to and from. So some stores view it as 10 miles one way and some view it 10 miles total. So maybe call your local store and ask.

You’re a cunt. I could’ve (⬅️ that’s a contraction of “could” and “have”) called you a stupid cunt for being a cunt while saying “could of,” which doesn’t mean anything in the English language. But I won’t. Just cunt.

Store Delivery should be a 15 mile radius. So it may depend on the item(s) you are trying to order.

u/bighead96 avatar

Nope definitely less than 15 miles at most Walmarts, the magic number is typically around 8 1/2 miles, so you’re totally off this 15 miles

u/Consistently_Carpet avatar

Yep magic number is 9 miles here

So each store has a delivery radius set by the company. It’s typically includes house that are a 10-15 minute drive from the store to keep in line with cold chain compliance. These maps don’t always include all locations that are within range so you’re address is outside their delivery coverage. The store would have to work with their market team in order to expand their coverage.

Usually your packages get delivered by USPS not Walmart so I don't know why that would even be an issue

u/Ill_Ad_6475 avatar

That's if you're doing shipping from Walmart.com. I'm specifically referring to store delivery.

I live 10.10 miles away and it doesn’t work for me. Looks to be somewhere between 8-9 miles away is the max at my Walmart. So sounds like you are out of luck at your address, just like me

u/ScrewtheMotherland avatar

Will Walmart deliver groceries for a charge? I’m not within the max distance for my store.

u/lydug avatar

WM+ delivers for free, I believe. You are just supposed to tip their drivers. It's like any other delivery service, like door dash or one of those places.

I know this is an old post but I was wondering the same question. Also

I am not affiliated with Walmart with the exception 13 years ago my ex wife worked there. Idc about Walmart tbh. I thought I'd just point out that (from outside the box) that we shouldn't be name calling or treating anyone in negative ways. (Not saying anyone did anything specific) can't we get along respectfully? I am for opinions from all sources.
