Highlight besides the scenery was my old fashioned cocktail. Really good. Also had the margarita, really bad. For my meal, I had the snapper. Nothing on the plate was good, literally no flavor whatsoever.

Visiting Columbas on business, this restaurant was recommended by our lawyer. Food was tasty and good value with large helpings. Seemed to be chef made and not bought in. I had the salmon with fried rice. The rice was a meal in itself. Husband had lobster ravioli. Server recommended a beer for my husband which was spot on. Good attentive service without being overbearing.

I went to explore Scioto Mile and stumbled upon this place. Nice seating inside and out, interesting menu, and great food. The biggest standout was the warm and welcoming service.

After exploring around the downtown area, I looked for a nearby “local” establishment with good reviews for happy hour and dinner. Milestone seemed to fit the bill so I headed there. Craving a burger and beer that’s what I ordered. The beer was local and quite tasty. The burger left me disappointed though. It bills itself as a double angus burger ground in house. What it came across as was two patties with dry little flavor. Similar in size and consistency to a frozen patty from the grocery store. The toppings didn’t add much more flavor unfortunately. For $18 I would expect more. I’ll probably come back though. The ambiance was fine and there are a lot of other options on the menu.

229 hosted us for a grad party for my girls because the size of our party had expanded they gave us a bar reservation for 14 late. We are thankful for the reservation and thankful we’re got to enjoy the good food and service and atmosphere. I don’t all the foods and drinks we were served but on the whole all of it was wonderful and the service was excellent. Thank you!

We came here for brunch and were seated on the patio area. They had great brunch options on the menu but the service and quality of food was lacking. The entire experience took some time. From receiving a greeting from the waitress, to drinks, to the food delivery and the checks. We ended up being here an hour and a half which was completely unnecessary had the waitress been attentive. I ordered the crabcake benedict and my husband ordered the burger. The food for me was terrible but great for my husband. I had to send the Benedict back because the egg was way over (hard boiled) and not goey like you expect when you order a Benedict. It took them 25 minutes to bring out another plate. The second plate I couldn't cut thru the English muffin and the crab cake was super salty. The tater tots that came with the meal were very good. My husband complimented his hamburger and garlic fries. Unfortunately, I would not return due to the service and quality of food served.

Great service, beautiful location and delicious food. Mushroom pizza, cauliflower pilaf were out of the world

Wife and I were in town for the NCAA tournament and needed a place for dinner. After researching a number of restaurants we decided Millstone 229 looked interesting. We decided to share a lot of different things rather than normal entree’s. Nashville calamari, wedge salad, three cheese prosciutto pizza and BIG slice of chocolate cake. All were great. Waitress was super accommodating as was all the wait staff. View of the Scioto River is nice. Manager gave us an entertaining explanation of the deer statue looking over the rail at the top of the bridge. Our team had lost so we needed something to cheer us up. This was it. All in all, it was a totally enjoyable experience.

Once you arrive, you don't want to leave. That's the feeling two visitors from Chicago get when they experience a luncheon date at Milestone 229, the airy, modern, glass-enclosed restaurant with comfort-driven fare and patio overlooking the Scioto Mile fountains with spectacular views of downtown Columbus, Ohio. Located at 229 Civic Center Drive in Bicentennial Park, it is described as the Jewel of the Scioto Mile, Columbus' magnificent and lush park system. Open from 11 to 9 Monday through Thursday, 11 to 10 on Friday and Saturday and 10 to 3 and 4 to 9 on Sunday, it offers lunch and dinner in a relaxing and beautiful atmosphere. Think Central Park in New York or Millennium Park in Chicago or Forest Park in St. Louis. For starters, we had warm German pretzel bread with Bavarian whole-grain mustard and Quartered Wedge Salad with baby iceberg lettuce, double-smoked hickory bacon, Roma tomato, boiled egg, scallions, crumbed Gorgonzola, double dressed with balsamic vinaigrette and creamy bleu cheese. Then a pair of two-fisted, delicious sandwiches, a Turkey Melt with roasted turkey breast, double smoked bacon, pimento cheese, mozzarella, smoked provolone, Amish tomato, red onion and pickle on grilled sourdough and a Double Angus Burger with a house grind of sirloin, chuck and brisket, American cheese, lettuce, pickle, onion and special sauce. For dessert, we shared large portions of banana pudding and bruleed vanilla bean cheesecake with black cherries and whipped cream. Wow!

Probably a great view from every table. Excellent service by April. Not a huge restaurant; I'm glad we made a reservation. Baked salmon added to house salad; I had the dressing on the side and liked both the salad and the dressing. Upscale field greens; salmon moist and perfectly prepared. They even trimmed the grey fatty area off the bottom of the filet; very few restaurants do that.

This is a great location and has a nice view and vibe. I just had a few issues with Milestone 229, hence the 3 star review. We made a reservation for 4 and the best thing about this place is sitting outside. We were told, by a very pretentious host, that the reservations were only for inside even though everyone wants to sit outside. We sat at the bar and finally got a table outside about 20 minutes after our reservation time. The server was very good and made suggestions. My wife ordered a pizza which was undercooked with semi-raw crust. I had the jambalaya which was just okay. Bottom line is Milestone 229 is a great location with okay food, and a good beer selection.

Ate lunch here today with others. They raved about their sandwiches and wraps. I got roast chicken, mac/chs and vegetables. Chicken cooked properly, macaroni had good flavor, vegetables still slightly crisp, just cooked perfectly. I improved the chicken by using friends curry sauce, after removing, layer gravy they placed over chicken. Much better, great flavor. Nice to watch fountain as you eat.

We were able to get right in on a busy Friday night - no reservation - seated outside on the patio by the cutest red-headed host - his smile made our 13h drive from Omaha NE much better! We both ordered the pork chop which was excellent; however, the vegetable selection of roast corn, cherry tomatoes and spinach was sparse for a $30 entree, and just ho-hum. A restaurant like this could be more creative with better side dishes like a wonderful cauliflower mash, some polenta and more seasonal veggies! The Rioja paired nicely with the meat. Our waiter, Jeremy, was excellent!
