- Why no official vinyl release of this? They would sell a ton of these. They haven't even repressed the EPs. An official, remastered vinyl release of this would be amazing. This is pretty essential stuff.
- I had the bad luck buying this one on a record fair without checking the records, now I have two vinyls of side C/D and no A/B. :-(
- I'm working on a book about Kevin and MBV and Don't Ask Why is a different mix I'll bet was done back in 1990. The other track I'm willing to bet is from the two abandoned EP's they recorded at Blackwing in February 1989. The bonus tracks on Eps 1988-1991 came from left overs from 1988 and tracks they weren't happy with from early 1989 from Blackwing. When they returned from the Isn't Anything tour which was in the middle of 1989, they changed their whole way of working. No more dry vocals, started using tube amps, lots more experimentation and sampling over a longer period. The dry single vocal typical of the stuff done in 1988 is the big clue it was done in early 1989 before they changed everything up. The old ways weren't getting them anywhere new so they went about things differently. Pretty sure this was unsatisfactory and they rethought their approach, and so they integrated dance and hip hop in a much more inspired way with "Soon", which took at least 6 months, whereas in 1988 they did eps and albums and just stopped when time ran out. Now they wanted to work on things for as long as it took after they came back from Isn't Anything tour. No more compromise! My book will spell this out. Check for TurnMyHeadIntoSound.com in 2-3 months.
- Black pressing sounds great! Must be getting rare to find this collection on vinyl as I haven’t seen them for sale in a long time.

Why is it not available in the United States? Kinda sucks, I like this music- Edited one year agoThe reissue in 2021 on Domino has two extra unlisted tracks on the second disc. A remix of "Don't Ask Why" and a second track I claimed was entitled "What Can You See".
Okay so I take back one thing I said. I got a little carried away. I've been working on a book for several years and I think I put stuff together in my head. When you're dealing with thousands of articles and sources you go back and double check them I can't find where I got the title from. I think someone labeled it "What Can You See" when I imported it. I'm going to get a cd player and look on a computer see what the real label is. The other info is based on supposition which I think is right. Its either from the two aborted session in early 1989 at Blackwing or its leftover from the Glider EP. By the vocal style which he abandoned by early '89, and the way he's released it, I'm guessing it was unsatisfactory and its from those two aborted EP's when they changed their whole way of working. No more finishing things when the time ran out. Much more experimentation. Using tube amps, more sampling, and no dry vocals. The dry vocal is what makes me think it has to be from early 1989. Glider is when he started with the really buried vocals usually with multiple overdubbed vocal tracks. He has only released about 3 songs from those two aborted EP;s so there are 5 tracks left over and this is probably one of them. And I think this is what led to him working so much harder and coming up with Soon which has the dance elements integrated in a much more inspired way. So that analysis I feel very good about based on the years of research I've done for this book I'm working on. I should have a site up in a few months called TurnMyHeadIntoSound.com (the title of the book) that will have all kinds of MBV stuff that didn't fit in the book and then I'll eventually release the book in the next year. - Why isn't this copy block like all the others are ? It is listed as unofficial, same as the others , so , that's odd, right ?
- The Don't Ask Why is a full band version of the version on Glider. Seems like the same basic track, but with additional band instrumentation. Track 12 reminds me of Emptiness Inside.
- The 2 "Untitled tracks" are not listed on the sleeve. One is a previously unreleased track and the other one is an alternate version of "Don't Ask Why". The style of both songs seems to be influenced by hip-hop, it kind of reminded me of the first album of Cocteau Twins. Apparently this was the direction they were taking with "Soon", but which they later abandoned as the sound of the glider e.p (and the next e.p: tremolo) was finally much more ethereal and fuzzy. Curiously, it seems that with some songs from M B V like "In another way" and "Wonder 2" they took up this more urban-electronic fusion.
