Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is a real experience. It is a bit hard to find, but once you get there, you feel like you have left Manchester. The service took quite a while but was incredibly friendly, and they explained how to eat the injera (soured teff flour pancake) properly, which was helpful. We ordered the Doro Wat and a mixed vegetarian dish with injera. The vegetarian dish had lots of delicious buttery pulse purees, and the doro wat was spicy and warming too. Ethiopian beer was lovely too! Overall, if you have never had Ethiopian food before, this is the place to have it—a real authentic and memorable experience!

We had lamb dishes, they were both delicious. Staff were friendly. Restaurant is not obvious from the street but well worth a visit.

Four of us selected one item from each category - beef, lamb, chicken and vegetarian - and then shared. Very tasty, and a novel experience eating everything using the folded injera bread, all washed down with bottles of (good) Ethiopian beer. Friendly service at a very reasonable price - four main courses and 8 beers came to £71.00 which is amazing given the central Manchester location.

Hands down my favorite Ethiopian Restaurant and I've had my fair share as a travel blogger for Girltakesmundo.com.
The veggie platter is my go-to and highly recommended for even the meat eaters. The waiter is always the same as this establishment is family run and I've never seen him not smile. (Probably the happiest person I know in Manchester.)
Price is affordable, in the great location in Manchester and family run. What more could you ask for!

What a fabulous place this is. Before talking about the food, i would like to appreciate the staff, so smily and cheerful. Nebew was such a fun host and server. The food is outstanding. This was the first time we tried Ethiopian Cuisine. We tried the Wot which is a medium spicy stew which is slightly thick cooked with meat. Doro Wot is
tender chicken slow cooked with onion, garlic, ginger, spices and herbal butter served with a boiled egg.
Shiro - Powdered chickpeas cooked with onion, garlic and ginger, mildly spiced
Beyaynetu is a traditional national dish served with various components - Yetsom Beyaynetu is spicy red lentils, yellow split peas, cabbage and carrots, shiro and house salad. The Injera is a flatbread similar to a pancake which is made from teff flour and is served with all the dishes. The total bill for 6 people was £60 including 5 Ethiopian Beers and food

Came here 3 or 4 years ago and was excited to come back but left disappointed. The place felt scruffy and smelt stale which it never used to. Lovely waiter he's a star but the prices have shot up and the food just isn't as good and there's a lot less of it. The injera were cold which was a bit off putting, the food was OK but nothing to write home about. The chicken was 1 very cheap chicken quarter and cost 11 in some gravy. The veggie option was also overpriced at 10. I wont be going back, and it's a shame cos I loved it first time

Lovely Ethiopian food. Demonstrated by a full house at 6:15 on a Friday.
Don’t be put off by the outside (a bit shabby). Good food, great value

Working away so always trying to find good food on a budget. Never tried Ethiopian food so went for it, Wow, great atmosphere, service extremely friendly, helpful and the food was sensational! I think I have found my new favourite bread… great tasting beer to washing it all down, I will most definitely return to this place!

£11-12 Any main dish which comes with a HUGE bread
£3.50 beer
Simple menu with about 10 choices total (2 of which veg), all enjoyed with a delicious, airy, soft sour flatbread.
Unpretentious, homey, generous, served with a smile, and simply delicious!

It is certainly different! If you don't like spicy food, perhaps that's not the place for you. The dishes seem to be rather hot. Mine was. It came with a massive pancake. It's nice enough really. The service is brilliant. Good value.
How authentic? I don't know. I have not been to Ethiopia!

We came here with a group of friends, and we were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere which was very chilled.
We ordered a sample of each meat and shared the board. The chicken was the nicest !
It was a very different experience, but was very nice. Very friendly waiter and good wine. Would recommend and would come back!
