PROGRAMS OF STUDY

The college curriculum combines six core competencies with five academic programs and concentrations to provide a foundation of understanding, knowledge, and skills. The core competencies broaden each student’s perspective and connection to academic work and careers for the 21st century. These social, historical, and scientific contexts develop and prepare students to transfer to competitive four year programs at local, regional, national, and international institutions.

VFMC A.A. DEGREES

Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice

Gain a rich foundation in the diverse and rewarding field of law enforcement with this degree grounded in law, government, ethics, and investigation.  You’ll have the opportunity to explore the world of digital forensics, criminalistics, crime scene management, and cybersecurity.  Gain a broad understanding of the field, or focus your studies by earning an undergraduate certificate in Digital Forensics or Cybersecurity as part of your studies.  The VFMC criminal justice degree prepares you to enter the field immediately after graduation or transfer to a four-year program in a host of criminal justice specialty areas based on the foundation you receive.

Associate of Arts in Security Studies

Enter the world of homeland security, emergency management, or intelligence studies with the foundation offered by this degree.  You’ll take classes in global conflict, terrorism, constitutional law, cybersecurity, and digital forensics depending on your career path.  Gain a broad understanding of the field, or focus your studies by earning an undergraduate certificate in Digital Forensics or Cybersecurity as part of your studies.  The VFMC security studies degree prepares you to enter the career field immediately after graduation or transfer to a four-year program in a host of security studies specialty areas based on the grounding you receive.

Associate of Arts in History

Start your studies in the field of history at VFMC with a firm grounding in World Civilization and the American Experience.  You’ll be introduced to American Military History and then have the opportunity to focus on one of America’s major military conflicts.  With this foundation, you’re prepared for the multiple historical avenues available at most four-year institutions.  And, despite the history focus, this degree offers a broad curriculum that prepares you to transfer to almost any liberal arts or social science degree.  Use this program to start degrees in economics, psychology, sociology, liberal arts, languages, or global studies, among others.

Associate of Arts in Humanities

The VFMC humanities degree is our most versatile degree, providing a broad foundation in cultures, language, social science, English, mathematics, science, history, and political science.  Students can use this degree to transfer into almost any four-year program in the liberal arts or social sciences.  This degree can also prepare you for degrees in business, general science, education, and the arts depending on which electives you choose.  You can also supplement your studies by earning an undergraduate certificate in cybersecurity or digital forensics.

Associate of Arts in Political Science

Start your studies in political science at VFMC with a firm grounding in American government and comparative politics.  You’ll be introduced to local administration, systems of government, Federalism, and law enforcement.   Add to your studies by earning the undergraduate certificate in Digital Forensics or Cybersecurity.  With a political science foundation, you’re prepared for the multiple areas of study in politics available at most four-year institutions.  And, despite its name, this degree offers a broad curriculum that prepares you to transfer to any liberal arts or social science degree, including economics, social work, sociology, liberal arts, global studies, pre-law, or a focused cultural studies degree.

Associate of Science in Health Science

Begin the journey toward a degree in biology, chemistry, and many other science specialties with this foundational science degree.  The associates in health science introduces you to the mathematics and lab sciences necessary to be successful in general science programs and can jumpstart you into specialized fields available at four-year institutions, including pre-med programs.

Associate of Science in Engineering and Physical Sciences

This degree prepares you for the challenging fields available in engineering and the physical sciences at competitive four-year institutions.  The coursework begins with either precalculus or calculus, and moves on to statics, chemistry, and graphics, before taking you into physics, dynamics, differential equations and programming.  It is a demanding degree that lays the foundation for success.

Enter the digital world with our program in computer science, which introduces you to general computing concepts and then carries you onto the programming and data analysis training you need to be successful at four-year institutions.  The goal of this degree is to prepare you for upper level training in web development, programming, and networking.  You can add the undergraduate certificate in cyber security or digital forensics to your studies to enhance your digital skills.

Start your future in business with a firm foundation in economics, management, ethics, government, law and accounting.  This degree prepares you to transfer into either a general business degree program at most four-year institutions or allows you to specialize upon transfer into degrees in accounting, marketing, management, or global business.  Combine this degree with an undergraduate certificate in digital forensics to make yourself a valuable corporate data analyst.   Or earn the cybersecurity certificate and prepare yourself for corporate cyber operations and support.

Cybersecurity Certificate Program

The Valley Forge Military College Cybersecurity Certificate, recognized by the NSA and DHS as a Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense for two year colleges (CAE2Y), prepares cadets and students for a high-demand career in information security. We provides our students career guidance and employment counseling upon completion of the Certificate program.

Our Certificate provides expertise in the rapidly changing Cybersecurity landscape by leveraging the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) through a series of four courses. These courses can be taken within any of our two-year programs, or as a standalone Certificate. If pursuing the Certificate only, students can complete the sequence of courses within one year.

Gain Learn Computer Information Systems. Gain an understanding of Constitutional Law, programming basics, and go on to earn a degree in the sought after field of Digital Forensics. This area of study compliments the Cybersecurity Certificate Program.
