Quite a lot of the material from the 1973 and 1974 sessions has been issued elsewhere, in some cases with different or questionable recording information or edits.

From the 1973 session, Radio Gnome Direct Broadcast starts with the same 27 second snippet that opens Camembert Electrique under the title Radio Gnome, so was at least partly recorded in 1971. The version of You Can't Kill Me has previously appeared on Live Etc. (where it is credited as having been recorded at the Edinburgh Festival in September 1973 and is edited to about a minute shorter) and on Live Au Bataclan 1973, where the recording date (May 1973) at least coincides with the credit here and the track features identical applause at the end on all three releases so almost certainly is from a live performance. So it seems that at least part of this session consisted of tapes supplied to the BBC by Gong, including one from a recent live performance, rather than recordings made by the BBC. Given that the other two tracks from this session amount to about 20 minutes, a typical length for a BBC radio session, it may be that they were BBC recordings but the first two weren't.

The 1974 session has also previously appeared on Live Etc., edited into 4 tracks totalling 17 minutes whereas here it is two tracks totalling 23 minutes. It's not clear which version was broadcast in 1974.

An excellent compilation of live sessions of Gong at the top of their Radio Gnome period. Mostly very spacy jazzy prog rock, flying teapots, a grooving group of individuals. With extraordinary parts by Didier Malherbe on sax, some tracks are straighter/better here than the studio version.
Side A (session 1971) recording sounds a bit dump/low, rest is very clear and near.
