“The Ox” (a.k.a., John Entwistle, bassist of The Who) on vocals on a song that he wrote.
He didn’t get many songs on albums - it’s a tough thing when you share a band with one of the best songwriters ever in Pete Townshend - but, when he did, it was generally a good one! He wrote/sang “My Wife” on the classic “Who’s Next” album too, among a few others.
R.I.P., John - you were one of the best bassists ever! 🙏🎸
Played the horns on "My Wife" too.
That’s right - he did! He was quite the horn-player! Frankly, he was probably the best total musician in the band.
He had some really great solo/ other collaboration stuff, too.
His writing was more light-hearted and humourous with stuff like Peg Leg Peggy, Do the Dangle, Whisky Man, Space Pirates (with Alice Cooper) but could be a little serious. He attempted starting his own rock opera as outlined in 905.
From the quick one album! Amazing musician
