Actress Jessica Biel talked about how she balances work and married life with her husband, singer Justin Timberlake, on Thursday's episode of "The View."
Biel runs her own production company and recently wrote a book called "A Kids Book About Periods," while Timberlake is on tour for his new album "Everything I Thought It Was."
"It's always a work in progress," Biel said. "It's constantly trying to find the balance, find the time we can connect. Thank goodness from Zoom and Facetime."
Biel and Timberlake have been married since 2012. She said they also try to make as much time for each other in person as possible.
"I don't know how we're going to do it, but we're going to get through it," Biel said.
Biel's new book focuses on the menstrual cycle and presenting it in a way that children can easily understand.
"It just felt like an important subject to start with, to de-mystify, de-stigmatize and really open the conversation," Biel said.
Biel has two sons, 9-year-old Silas and 2-year-old Phineas. She said recommends this book for all children, including her own.
"I have a period and I want my boys to understand what I'm going through, and I want them to be supportive for their friends and maybe eventual partners," Biel said.
Recently, the actress turned her attention away from acting, instead focusing on running her own production company, Iron Ocean Productions. She has produced series such as "The Sinner," "Cruel Summer" and "Candy."
She spoke about the mission of the company, and why it took her over 20 years to get it off the ground.
"We were trying to make female-driven content, storytelling around female stories," Biel said. "And at the time, I don't think it was being really embraced in that way and that's changed a lot."
She thought about quitting production before finding success with "The Sinner," which was nominated for an Emmy and two Golden Globe awards.
"After 10 years of really struggling and fighting the good fight to get these projects happening, we said 'if this thing doesn't sell, we're quitting. That's it, we're walking away from this,'" Biel said.
Biel recently made an appearance at the Met Gala, where she stunned in a pink Tamara Ralph dress with Cartier accessories.
"I think the idea was just playful, fairy garden nymph-like character and it just felt fun and happy," Biel said.
She said she prepared for the night by bathing in 20 pounds of Epsom salt.
"I slept really well, I woke up, I felt really good. I felt calm," Biel said.
