My daughter and I (she's 22) just adored the Brixton neighborhood and more specifically, Brixton Village. It is eclectic, alive, diverse and interesting. Great bars, restaurants and live music. Great street art too. Near the tube and great Airbnb's close by. We would go again.

This is a great place to visit in this vibrant part of London. Small and independent traders offer a really wide and interesting choice of goods. Has a real modern feel and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

I came here for the first time yesterday and was really impressed with the area. There is such a diverse range of food places, that one could never go hungry.

It’s a fantastic part of London where there is food from all over the world in one place, as well as shops selling cosmetics, clothing and jewellery.

Most places had tables outside and there was not a possibility to eat inside, so I’m not sure if that was the norm or due to Covid.

I had asked around about Brixton and I was given mixed reviews.
“Brixton is a rough area that you need to be wary”
-yes it can be, if you are looking for trouble you can find it. If you keep your wits about you and stay in common areas it is quite nice.
“Brixton has a large Afro population”
-yes it does, and that makes this place a center of wonderful sights, smells, and flavor.

Have a go, enjoy the rich diverse culture.

Brixton has a number of arcades and for some reason when a number of restaurants , bars, coffee shops and retail outlets opened it was foolishly renamed Brixton village. However, its pretty good with a couple of dozen or more restaurants plus shops and bars. There isca wide variety of international food including Caribbean, South American Thai, British Japanese Chinese etc. It nice to wander round a bit before settling down to eat.

Our first visit here and we really enjoyed our time here. Full of culture and vibrancy. Lots of independent shops. Would certainly recommend if you like something a little different.

A minor complaint but we chose this restaurant having reviewed the online menu. When we sat down to order we noticed most dishes were £5 more than advertised online meaning the meal for two cost us more than £20 more than we'd expected. Not a huge deal but we'd chosen this restaurant as a cheap option and if we'd known would have chosen elsewhere in Brixton village.
Also another small gripe but I ordered tiger prawns and was told there would be 6, but only 5 arrived. Nothing major but bit irritating

In a nice hot summer day a very good idea for a walk in a less tourist area. Plenty of meat and fish stalls but also plenty of querky shops and stalls and little cafes and restaurants to choose from.
