Tennessee Technological University Reviews
Rating 3.69 out of 5 1,150 reviews
Tennessee Technological University (TTU) stands out as an excellent college for several reasons. Firstly, its strong emphasis on STEM disciplines ensures that students receive a high-quality education in fields such as engineering, computer science, and the sciences. Additionally, TTU fosters a supportive learning environment with small class sizes, allowing for personalized attention from faculty members. The university also offers numerous opportunities for hands-on learning through research projects, internships, and co-op programs, providing students with valuable real-world experience. Furthermore, TTU's campus community is vibrant and inclusive, offering various clubs, organizations, and events that enrich the student experience. Overall, Tennessee Technological University provides a nurturing and challenging environment for students to excel academically and personally.
Tennessee Tech University provides a balanced environment, fostering connections and a sense of belonging. Reflecting on my freshman year, active engagement enriched my experience. However, financial challenges, notably the mandatory $2,000 meal plan and $8,000 housing cost, strain student budgets. Infrastructure vulnerabilities, exemplified by dorm floods (which I experienced firsthand, being forced to sleep in a waterlogged room), underscore areas for improvement. Revising meal plan mandates, enhancing dorm insurance policies, and fortifying emergency protocols are essential to prioritize safety and financial equity.
Overall, it’s a decent school with a lot of cute and fun things to do around Cookeville. The campus is very nice and clean. I would say it’s relatively expensive and I’ve heard the professors for some classes could give a little more to their students but I have not had an issue yet.
