I saw The Beat live, and always wanted to get a compilation that would remind me of that gig... This is the one. A great cross-section of their best songs. If you liked them, you'll like this album. If you're new to their music, this is a great introduction.
This seller was prompt and the CDs in pristine condition. The Beat were a fantastic band, and no doubt still are. The vocals of Dave Wakeling are as engaged and astonishing as the first time I heard them: as too the rhythmic genius of Andy Cox, Dave Steele and Everett Morton, the back-line trio that gave the drive to the sound. Not to forget the power of Ranking Roger's contribution. This comp. includes some twelve inch remixes which showcase that subtle rhythmic ingenuity and are still dance friendly, well when the sciatica clears up they will be.
This is a must own album in my opinion. There are so many great tracks Best Friend, Too Nice to Talk To, Save it for Later, Twist and Crawl, Hands Off She's Mine etc...
