NEWS OF THE WEEK

Round Two of voting for the 2024 Singing News Fan Awards opened yesterday and will continue through May 10.
The National Quartet Convention’s Clarke Beasley and the Southern Gospel Music Association’s Arthur Rice recently recorded video for an upcoming streaming special to be released on June 4. The special will include NQC concert footage and reveal the names of the SGMA Hall Of Fame’s Class of 2024. Beasley added, “This will be the first public announcement of the inductees, and the inductees will be finding out along with everyone else when this special airs.”
Artists and music industry folks from across the spectrum of Christian music gathered in downtown Nashville yesterday for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Christian & Gospel Music Museum at the Dove Center. Signage at the location indicates the museum should open to the public in the fall of 2025. Tennessee Governor Bill Lee, Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell, GMA President Jackie Patillo, and Christian artist Michael W. Smith spoke at the ceremony.
