The Grand America Hotel is celebrated for its luxurious ambiance, with guests often impressed by the opulent decor and beautiful furnishings that contribute to an elegant stay. The rooms are large and generally well-received, although there have been occasional comments on the decor's dated aspects and housekeeping communication.

Detailed Reviews
I attended a software conference in early October that was held at this hotel. It was a great choice -- the location was excellent, located in the center of the city. It was very convenient for walking, with good places to eat within a few blocks and the delights of City Center close by. There is also a tram stop a block away.
Our room was superb and the facilities immaculate. There are shops on the main floor, along with a full service spa, exercise room and business center. The meeting rooms were well laid out and the support staff impressive.
If there was anything that had room for improvement, it was the food -- dinner on our first night was not up to par (note: "al dente" pasta means firm, not dry and crunchy) and breakfast overpriced. Go across the street to the Little America Hotel, for better quality and variety.
All in all, the survey sent out by the software company asking for opinions got an overwhelming response asking for them to hold future conferences here. I would recommend this hotel for conference attendees and personal travel by both families and singles.

Of all the hotels we've stayed at in the past, the Grand America is the absolute best. Our King View room on the 19th floor was amazing. The Interior finishes, maid service, check in were all above par. Lastly, make time for Sunday Brunch and its best not to eat the night before so you can savor all of their offerings.
A truly amazing experience was had and we will definitely be back at some point to watch the Utes get beat.

We travel a lot and this is one of favorite hotels in the world. Granted, we’ve stayed multiple times but the staff knows. Brent even remembers my wife’s breakfast Iced tea.
This place feels like home.
An added plus this time was the amazing massages we both had in the spa.
It’s worth a few extra dollars for the amazing service and experience.
We’ll be back!

This Hotel is outstanding.
Bell Captain was fabulous and most helpful.
Everyone I encountered was courteous and gracious.
The Gym and Spa are unbelievable, there is every single machine and space for every single exercise you can think of, and the SPA....YES.
Go there and be spoiled.

Let me start by saying I travel a lot. Like a lot a lot. I’ve visited many countries and this was by far the most beautiful hotel with the most impeccable service I’ve ever experienced. I can honestly say this hotel is the equivalent of a 7* hotel in China or Dubai. If your looking for a special treat do not hesitate stay here when you find yourself in Salt Lake City. Oh and don’t forget to grab a fresh baked cookie when checking in...they are melt in your mouth deliciousness!!

The Grand America Hotel made the business conference we attended into a great getaway. I definitely recommend choosing to stay here if you have the chance. If you are planning a conference or wedding, this is a great choice. Everyone we encountered at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful as were the Salt Lake City residents. The suites are very nice especially if you can appreciate the period decor. Based on its style I thought this was a grand old hotel, but it was actually built for the 2002 Winter Olympics. We totally enjoyed the spa experience. We got in good workouts in the gym followed with a Eucalyptus steam sauna and whatever they call the shower with 14 (?) heads. If only we had the time to fit in the couples massage. The hotel is a short walk from Temple Square, the Capitol, and Memory Grove Park which is a lovely place for a stroll. And also a short walk from night life and a couple of good craft cocktail bars. If the weather is good, the outdoor pool is nice and private. You can get an adult beverage and the fish tacos are delicious. If the weather is less than ideal the indoor pool and hot tub with a view of the mountains (still snow covered this June) is hard to beat.

Even before we read about the history of this amazing hotel, we knew we were in for something VERY special!
To say that this property is beautiful, is truly an understatement. No detail was overlooked in the construction of the Grand America. Take a few hours during your stay to enjoy the gorgeous courtyard (I took over 100 photos of the spectacular flowers!) ... walk around and look at each chandelier (they're exquisite) ... sit in the lobby and have a cafe au lait (DELISH!). And if you're lucky enough to get a seat in the lobby bar while the Dave Bowen Orchestra is playing, you will love playing Name That Tune with your companions. DBO is a ultra-hip jazz trio that plays the latest hits in a very cool way (think Gangsta's Paradise, but jazzy) ... they're FANTASTIC!!!
The rooms are spacious, well-kept, and absolutely lovely - and the fabric steamers are a WONDERFUL touch (much preferred over irons!).
The service is beyond outstanding - from the front desk staff to the restaurants to housekeeping.
Don't miss the spectacular Sunday Brunch!

There is a really good educational outdoor museum has buildings and the history of the Mormons traveling to Salt Lake called This Is The Place there is also a neat Children's Museum. There is an excellent program from the Department of Tourism that has a discount for multiple attractions and all of the participating museums are on that. Check out the Salt Lake City connect pass website and there will be a ton of activities and museums
The outdoor pool was heated and open when we were there last month.
