Senior: Dublin City Schools does a very good job at trying their best to be inclusive. They think of everybody's different situation when they make their decisions on what is best for the district. There are many different opportunities to be present in school. All the schools have volunteering opportunities, plenty of clubs, and sports teams. the teacher, administrators and other staff are super helpful and all ways there if you need anything. The only thing that is frustrating about Dublin is that many of the students are in cliques and making friends and finding where you belong is very difficult. Alum: I was in Olentangy Local Schools for the entirety of my K-12 education. Most of my experience was good in terms of education, sports, food, schedule, etc. I was more prepared going into college than a majority of my classmates and can say confidently I was set up for a successful college experience. I had little to no trouble with faculty, only minor issues that were likely a result of my teenage attitude. However, the main issue I faced was the culture of the students in the school. It's an extremely cliquey environment, as with most high schools, but this one in particular felt more divided than most I have heard about since graduation. It seemed most people were uninterested in socializing with people outside of their 'group'. I would encourage more large group based activities like pep-rallies and class events. Senior: I have been at Gahanna Lincoln high school for three complete years, and currently in my fourth and senior year of high school. My personal experiences here have certainly been up and down from my freshman to senior year, it definitely has been a journey. I've had constant memories through sports, friends, teachers, work, gatherings and many other aspects that tied into high school being such an exciting experience for me, it gave us the freedom to prepare us for what college will be like from an open campus, a more in depth academic program, a large athletic scale and not to mention the diversity as well which is something about Gahanna that I highly favored, the culture, diversity and many other ways to experience new people, aspects and viewpoints. On the other hand, my worst experiences were in my freshman year (aka COVID year), it was just very stressful, having school online, while also being in a sport as well and to conclude, honestly, GLHS needs no changes in my opinion.... Senior: I have had a very good 12 years in the Westerville City School District. Everyone does a good job at mainting a positive and supportive environment that encourages diversity and understanding amongst its students. They also make it an effort to help students in need and fund various clubs and activities. At first, throughout elementary I did have a largely negative experience, experience large systematic racism from the district staff and teachers, but that has since been rooted out and largely changed, and I am ever greatful. Now, a big problem would be getting enough bus drivers to cover the routes for all the students. We frequently have bus shortages and shortened school days to account for the bus drivers schedule. Senior: My experience at Jonathan Alder School District was amazing. As the second generation to have gone to the high school, and the first generation to start in their preschool program and continue through until senior year. I believe that Jonathan Alder is considered an astounding school for several reasons. The commitment the district has to make sure all the students thrive to their best academic ability is outstanding. I believe that because of the teacher's pivotal role in helping their students it creates a very supportive learning environment. Although Jonathan Alder is excellent school district, I do believe there is always room to improve and excel their district. Enhancing the communication between the administration, students, and parents will improve the student's engagement in their learning. Senior: Throughout my career at Johnstown High School, I have made countless friendships and have bonded with several students. Other: This was a great school when I attended. I was involved a lot with the art classes that I took. I meet a lot of amazing friends. The teachers and facility were very helpful. The only bad parts were when the students thought it would be funny to called in "bomb-threats" as pranks. That was never funny and the school made sure that they were reprimanded. Junior: Licking heights has been a wonderful school, culture, and hornet family to me. Licking heights is like all other high schools in the friend industry; you find your group and grow a relationship with those friends. Licking heights athletics on the other is kind of interesting because their facilities weren’t as great at first. Eventually we got some new coaches and now the facilities and sports culture has improved greatly competitive and equipment wise. Licking heights schooling and administration are not the greatest compared to other schools in our area, but the student to teacher relationship is the most beautiful thing I’ve seen, and I will cherish these relationships in my heart for a long time. The schooling could use some work. When preparing for college licking heights is not the greatest at that, although they have established new classes for real life experiences; like accounting and economics.
