Individually and collectively, these motion pictures take us to dark places that we couldn't - and probably wouldn't - want to go otherwise. Getting a peek at the criminal lifestyle from a safe perspective offers a cinematic rush like no other. Oftentimes, such films remind us that good can triumph over evil, too.
