I bought the service last year. At that time turned off the auto renew service as I did not want to renew like that. A year later the card was charge and I received an email telling me that, "Your auto-renew was enabled." Lie. Lie. Lie!!! The entire year I was bombarded by info to get more protection ads constantly popping up on the screen. Irritating to say the least. Are they so desperate for money they have to try and scare the consumer to get more from them. When I tried to cancel they continued with the scare tactics and tried to convince you to stay. I would not use your service every again even if you were the last line of defense for computers. Horrible company. Shameless!

Yesterday and today I talk to the customer support. They said I will get a refund yesterday. Apple say they can't give me one and they said at Norton it apple that does. This is the worst company ever in my life. Norton should be shut down.

Honestly, *I'm* the idiot for being a Norton customer for at least 20 years. In 2022-2024, May, it's become consistently unstable, more of a memory hog on PCs and accepts and denies login credentials every few days. It doesn't recognize devices it protects. The ONLY thing Norton is really good at is hassling customers to upgrade and renew 380 days early.

Using it on 4 different devices has become a hideous time consuming frustrating waste of energy and resources. The good reviews are either not honest or are written by someone new to Norton. Norton, formerly known as Symantec, formerly known as Norton...is well known for 1. treating existing, repeat customers like dirt. 2. Eastern continent based far away, outsourced Tech Support who are not properly trained about the product(s). The Feedback Surveys are useless, don't waste your time- it's a phishing scam.

I did a free scan on my cell phone & it listed approx 15 problems with my phone. I chose to not purchase the protection, they have harassed me with notifications, sometimes over 76 per day. I called customer service, & they wanted to offer free service for a year which I declined. I told them they were harassing me with the notifications & he hung up on me. When I called back I was told, "Don't call back," & hung up on me. I spoke to someone else & he assured me that the notifications would stop. So we'll see if he keeps his word.

So, here's what Norton does. They remove options from the purchased product, then want you to buy an upgrade to get the option that was previously there. Furthermore, the push is to add LifeLock. You are constantly contacted with a lot of add-ons! It's annoying! They will offer a free upgrade, then the link doesn't work, they can't find the chat where it was offered, and there is no history of the communication. You cannot send a copy of the Chat to your email and they can't retrieve the Chat despite having a reference number. Don't waste your time on Chats and phone calls to resolve matters. It's a Classic Bait and Switch tactic!

I have been using Norton for years, more than I can count. Slowly its usefulness has decreased and its sales pitches have accelerated, especially after my most recent renewal in 12/2023. I decided I needn't need or want it any longer. I canceled my subscription, removed the software and asked for a refund. After chatting with customer support for an hour, including working with a supervisor, the sum total of what they could provide me was NOTHING. No refund, period.

My loyalty mattered not at all. The fact that I barely use it does not matter. The fact the backup doesn't work does not matter. Not even their own customer service post from Jan 18, 2024 mattered. Nothing matters except a multimillion dollar company wants to hold onto every penny. If I canceled any other service, cable, telephone line, or lawn mowing, I would be entitled to a refund of the unused portion, but not Norton. No, for them, once they have the money, they keep the money, whether I am using their service or not.

I was entire mistaken in my previous reviews of Norton's Customer Service. Turns out I was scammed by a site masquerading as a Norton site. The number that site used is 8558153726. They are slick, organized and convincing. I've reported them to the appropriate enforcement agencies. Norton has been completely responsive and cooperative about this matter. I apologize to them for my misplaced anger.

    Original Review: April 25, 2024

The most frustrating, worthless customer support experience I've ever endured. Rather than dealing with my issue, the so-called 'support team' spent the entire call trying to hustle me into accepting a $100 gift that would, of course, obligate me to accept and pay for a credit card. Worse than horrid -- a scam.

I would never trust them. They remoted into my computer by turning it on and forcefully installed an update then charged $160 to my debit card for it. When I asked for a refund they told me no they can't do that. Cancelled my subscription and filed a complaint with the BBB.

I purchased Norton 360 deluxe for 5 devices when I purchased my laptop. Today has been pure chaos trying to install Norton into my laptop. The product number seems to be invalid. What makes matters worse for a visually impaired person is that there is no live customer support number. I gave up! I purchased a virus protector from another company and easily installed it. I will not use Norton anymore. Today's events have made me cast doubts on other Norton products that I have purchased. Will they contact me if my home title has been altered as they advertise? How about identity theft? If their communication falters in one area does it falter in all areas. My guess is probably so!
