The teachers present themselves with clear goals for their students and will ensure their long term success. The opportunities in different career pathways are truly remarkable and range from manufacturing to a student led cafe and even coding. I believe the course rigor here is on the average side. We have multiple AP courses but lack a few notable ones including AP bio, Language Arts APs, and AP physics.
I feel the curriculum here is very linear and limits the capabilities/goals a student may have. In my case, I want to major in physics and would like to expose myself to the AP physics curriculum to receive AP credit. However, this year I had to self studied for one of the most notoriously difficult AP exams--AP physics 1--and as of senior year I will continue my self led learning for AP physics C mech and E&M.
David Douglas High School is a very decent school, but I would like to see a more open curriculum so students can explore their passions more effectively.

The best thing was being able to make new friends and meeting teachers and counselors that assisted me throughout the year.
The worst thing is that I had some teachers that were disrespectful at times, I had difficult time understanding some teachers teachings at times and those classes were hard to work with there for it caused me to drop some of those classes for those reasons. I also had a freshman year that didn't feel very fresh as I just did it online school so it started off rough in my sophomore year.

The school is full of great teachers and classes. They have good basic engineering courses that give you an idea on what engineering is all about. They are currently working on a new CTE building for all the similar classes and I can't wait for that to start construction! I loved the teachers who are great at getting to know us students. They have a lot of recourses for college, and careers.
