As a senior reflecting back, I've come to realize that no high school experience is flawless. However, amidst imperfection, Lake Howell has stood out as a remarkable chapter. The teachers here have been exceptional, guiding me to understand that genuine support exists. Unlike my middle school days, where questions were met with frustration, high school educators embraced curiosity, reassuring me that seeking clarity wasn't a burden. Their unwavering presence has been a source of comfort, knowing there's always someone to turn to. While I've encountered challenges, they've paved the way to invaluable connections and lessons in friendship, positivity, mental well-being, and the intricacies of life itself. Though graduation brings a twinge of sadness, it also heralds the promise of exciting new adventures ahead.
The school is a very great school, it provides many opportunities and activities for the students, the staff is very hardworking and reliable and they have amazing spirit, but the internet is very slow and almost all of our technology barely works. It’s hard to provide children with the opportunity to learn and prepare for college when they can’t even log into the computers and work. The extracurricular activities are severely underfunded and I am amazed at the quality of hard work and dedication our arts and other clubs put out with little to no help from the school at all. Overall it is a great school that provides many great opportunities for students, but I feel I need to address the bad as well as the good.
At Lake Howell High School, many fights and many safety concerns were not addressed by administration. It continued to be an issue throughout all 4 years of my high school experience. The food is not very reliable, even though it has a free program for low income families. Disciple has been very carefree and hasn't helped me in different situations, such as bullying and mental health problems. The school spirit, I would say, is the most outstanding out of all the high schools surrounding Lake Howell. In the end of my year, I would love to see more changes with administration and action for student.
