This isn’t the biggest aviation museum we’ve been to by any means. It doesn’t have the most planes or displays, but what you do have here is a sense of history and a real connection to real people the events that happened here and the sacrifices that were made. You are not just supporting the maintenance and restoration of the planes and vehicles that they have here, those fully restored and those that are work in progress, but also keeping alive the memory of those that lived and died from this airfield. The dedicated chapel on the grounds is a perfect testament to that and not something I have seen elsewhere. Highly recommended.

Interesting Exposition of About 150 years of Lincolnshire Life.

Free admission and parking (but only about 20 spaces).

We had a very knowledgeable guide who took us on a tour of the hangar and gave us lots of information about all the planes within the display all of which are air worthy. The access is good and would be suitable for wheel chairs . I wouldn’t recommend it for young children as there is a lot of information to take in and obviously no interactions with the planes . As a bonus the typhoon flew over so the noise was brilliant

£31 to enter and after walking up from an overgrown wasteland of a car park I wasn't expecting anything special.
    I was pleasantly surprised.
Sure, it's a little run down and overgrown in places, there were a few animal enclosures that were empty but the place has a really fun vibe and the work they are doing in helping seals is invaluable.

I've visited the sanctuary in Skegness before and I have to say this was a massive improvement over that. More like a mini zoo than a simple seal sanctuary and my kids loved it (particularly my 7yr old).

We got to see seals being fed and meerkats eating their lunch, even if the tannoy system they used for the seal keeper was old and tinny.

Really clean, tidy toilet facilities and extra kudos for having a baby change facility in the male toilets as well.

Cafe on site was basic and the seating was old and tired looking and unless you ask, there is no menu to order from, so you kind of have to guess what the offerings are.

A cute little gift shop on the way out, offering the usual over priced cuddly toys, pens, fridge magnets etc (strange that not all of it is branded with the sanctuary logo/name) and bizarrely toy plastic soldiers and toy tanks 🤷🏻‍♂️.

All in all we spent about £60 which included tickets for the 3 of us (1 adult and 2 kids), drinks and a cake in the cafe and some gifts from the shop.

The fact that my 7yr old wanted to go back and see some more of the animals tells me it was a hit with at least 1 of the kids.

Visited on a gloomy and damp day. Having said that, it wasn't my first time visiting. Still managed to see 24 different species of bird, a fox, a plethora of seals off the coast, and my husband saw some deer too. In only a few hours. There are a few interspersed hides, which gave some respite from the damp and were peaceful. There is so much to explore, so we will be back again. It was, however, disappointing that the café closed by 4 on a Saturday, there was one loo in service and the car park is cash only, so there are some improvements to be made... which would have given a 5 star rating..

Excellent place to visit and accessible for scooter users. I only went because my husband wanted to go, I thought I'd be bored. How wrong could I be! I thoroughly enjoyed myself. There was so many interesting things to see and I even got to climb up onto Tom the ancient steam engine. The staff (of volunteers) were very friendly, chatty and knowledgeable, making the whole experience even more interesting. Afterwards we enjoyed a extremely tasty cheese burger in the cafe, I just wished I'd had room for a slice of the rather delicious looking cakes they had on offer. All together a great day out

It was raining when we arrived, so a visit indoors was the obvious start.
The welcome staff did just that. The unprepossessing entrance gives into one end of a hall, and we were made welcome with the sensation of visiting, say, an elderly relative for the first time. We didn't know each other, yet, but were nevertheless pleased to see each other.
The audio tour was explained, a little of the background to the Hall and ownership given and we were given free rein to wander around. My query about the table was answered fully and completely, and led to more explanation about carvings, which had a distinctly Gibbons-esque quality from a distance, but were made by a former owner.

The table, it turned out, was recent, and from a single fallen oak, yielding a one piece top around 6 metres in length. The whole with cunning breadboard ends and pleasantly chunky underframe on turned pillars.

The rest of the Hall is full of interest, and made the more so by the audio introduction to each room being made by the owners Claire and James, with their comments and reminiscences 'We used to roller skate in this room' lends a very human level of appreciation totally missing from many similar locations. Knowledgable and approachable room stewards who were happy to explain and discuss details.

The rain stopped, we toured the exceptionally soggy formal gardens, which are really worth another visit when the season has moved on and the plantings are flourishing.

Great visit very interesting . Bob and Ronnie. Two ex fishermen were very helpful and polite. Obviously very professional and knowledgeable tour guides. Thank you. My two grandchildren were so interested ages 9.12 and so quite taking it in especially the Ross tiger tour. History of the vikings and fishing history had them asking questions which was great . Myself my wife and daughter also enjoyed every minute of it . My grandchildren live away pleased on their visit this time we finally visited the centre. It’s a must visit heritage centre , thank you to the cafe staff for a lovely coffee etc all take care 😊👍

Awesome place. The house has a real special vibe to it. It’s amazing to see the house and the apple tree too.
Aside from the house and tree the science centre has an array of activities to peak kid’s interest.
I would advise booking in advance and arriving early.

Took our 7 year grandson for a mini keeper experience which he really enjoyed. Chloe the keeper was very pleasant and informative and knowledgeable.
After this we looked at the other animals and then the live dinosaurs which were brilliant.
There is a good outside play area as well as an indoor soft play
We arrived at 9.45am and left at 4pm

We had a great time at the farm! We couldn’t believe how great value it is here. There’s so much to do including goat walking, bird talks, reindeer feeding, soft play, outdoor play and lots of different animals. You really can spend the whole day here. We also found the cafe extremely good value. All staff are friendly and have really thought about how to please everybody on a day out. I’m sure we’ll visit again!

Amazing fun! Plenty of animals to see, wonderful environments for them to enjoy and lots to learn!
I used to come here as a child myself and it’s great to see how much has been invested.

The only negative was the lack of vegan options for lunch, this meant we left much earlier than we wanted to as we were hungry!

For the price of the tickets you’d really want to spend a good few hours or more here, and it would be easy to do as there is lots to see. But unfortunately we needed to eat so had to cut it a bit shorter.

Maybe even the option of chips in the cafe would be a great addition for everyone! We would have been more than happy to order a few portions to share.

This museum is small but it has the ‘Wow’ factor. The detailed booklet, which gives loads of information, is a must and only £1. It is certainly a museum for people of a certain age who can remember these cars flying around on our roads but I am sure people of any age would enjoy it too. The memorabilia took me back to my childhood - my wife and I spotted loads of things we used to have! Even a cosy cafe on site.
