Is this the closest America got to Krafwerk? Simple synth use and clean production to propel us into the future. It is occasionally cheesy but excels at showing what computer music could (and would) become.
    far better than Electric Cafe!

I'd put 'Six Simple Synthesizers' and 'Man Made' forward as two of the best vocoder electro tracks ever.

One of the few classic early 80's electro albums, and one of the few big '82 electro projects that Arthur Baker was not credited as being involved in; nevertheless John Robie appears. "Hip Hop Be-Bop" became the massive international electro hit, and is one of the timeless pieces of the era. Interestingly, you can see exactly how little Man Parrish fit into the "hip hop" mold by viewing the video for this track; this is American futurist electro, not something easily lumped into the amalgam called "hip hop." This rather consistent and groundbreaking album features several of the Disconet/Importe-12 crew, including Raul A. Rodriguez (producer and mixer best known for "In The Bottle" and "Uphill (Peace of Mind)"), and Vanguard producer Mark Berry, who is known for Alisha's productions among others. Yet another electro essential.
