This is a place to discuss horror literature. Any book is up for discussion as long as that discussion is respectful. It doesn't matter if you're into Stephen King, Octavia Butler, Jack Ketchum or Shirley Jackson, this is the place to share that love and discuss to your heart's content.
If I watch the film adaptation of Tender is the Flesh will it spoil the book?
Just curious. I’m eager to watch it, but just wondering if I should finish the book first.
I don't think there's a film adaption for the book yet.
Okay I thought so too. I had googled it and Bones & All by Camille DeAngelis came up, but when I watched the trailer it didn’t look at all like what I have read of the book so far.
Different story! That ones also based on a book but the theme is more specifically about people's relationship with meat from the perspective of a vegan author and IIRC Agustina Bazzterica was more about the commodification of people
Okay gotcha! Thank you for the insight💜
That sounds interesting as well. Do you think it's worth a read?
I didn't read it, just watched the film version. Film and book are fairly similar but film has an altered ending and characters are aged up to adults. Heard good things about the book, and some criticisms of it being soapboxy.
Comment: I think each medium brings its own unique perspective to a story, so watching the film adaptation may offer a different interpretation than the book. It could enhance your overall experience of Tender is the Flesh!
