Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson's nine-month whirlwind relationship was a gift that kept on giving.
The mogul and Saturday Night Live comedian's unexpected romance first began when Kim hosted SNL in October 2021. Since, the two became Instagram official, Kardashian-event official, and Met Gala red carpet official—before ultimately breaking up in August 2022.

January 30, 2019: They meet.
Kim’s first documented encounter with Pete is, in fact, thanks to Kanye West. The (then-married) couple goes out to dinner with both the comedian and Timothée Chalamet to celebrate Kid Cudi’s birthday. Kim later shares photos of their night on Twitter.
October 9, 2021: Kim hosts SNL.
Kim (now single) and Pete meet properly when Kim hosts Saturday Night Live—and they share their first kiss together, an onscreen peck during their Princess Jasmine and Aladdin skit.
Months later, Kim reveals that the kiss with Pete gave her the feels. "It was a stage kiss, but it was, like, still like a little zing, you know?" Kim says in a Not Skinny but Not Fat podcast episode. "I was just like, 'Hmm.'"
She also says Pete got ahold of her number after the SNL skit, and the two begin going on casual dates. One of them, their first public outing together, is at Knott’s Scary Farm, where they are photographed holding hands on a roller coaster.
November 17-19, 2021: They appear on Kris Jenner's Instagram.
After a handful of paparazzi-captured dates, the two are spotted in a photo together on Instagram for the first time wearing matching pajamas beside Kim's mom, Kris Jenner, and Flavor Flav. Random? A day later, an ET source reveals that the two are indeed dating and "connecting on a deeper level."
December 2021: They're spotted on dates.
December is a month of more cute dates—from going out to the comedian’s favorite restaurant in Staten Island to sharing a sweet breakfast in Beverly Hills. After breakfast, Pete is also seen driving around in Kim’s Rolls-Royce while shopping, per TMZ and Daily Mail.
January 17, 2022: They go to the Bahamas together.
Pete is promoted to Instagram boyfriend. After the two are spotted boarding a private jet to the Bahamas, Kim shares a series of bikini shots on Instagram revealing a mysterious shadow in the corner that fans are convinced is Pete’s.
February 7, 2022: They make their relationship public.
Pete publicly calls Kim his girlfriend for the first time in a video interview with People. "I just either hang with my friends or chill with my girlfriend inside," he casually tells the outlet.
March 11, 2022: Pete makes his Instagram debut on Kim's account.
The two become Instagram official after Kim shares a photo dump of her snuggling up with Pete. "Whose car are we gonna take?!" she writes in the caption.
March 16, 2022: Kim says Pete has tattoos dedicated to her.
Kim reveals on The Ellen Degeneres Show that Pete has not one but several tattoos—and a literal iron branding—dedicated to their relationship. "That's what tattoo people do, right? Like, they get tattoos of what's going on in their life. Am I special?" Kim says.
April 4, 2022: Pete spends time with Scott Disick.
Pete's relationship with the Kardashian clan is evidently blossoming—particularly with Scott Disick. Following an amusing Instagram Story from March—during which Pete recorded a video himself via Scott's account while he and their friends were asleep—Pete rolls up to Scott's house to deliver pizza to him in a pink golf cart (a Christmas gift to Kim, courtesy of momager Kris). Scott films and shares the encounter to his Instagram Story, revealing a priceless interaction that naturally involves several Postmates jokes.
April 6, 2022: Kim opens up about their relationship.
Kim reveals that she's been in a great place mentally and emotionally with Pete in a Good Morning America interview with coanchor Robin Roberts. "I am a, like, relationship kind of girl, for sure," Kim says when asked about how serious she and Pete are. "I wouldn't be with someone if I didn't plan on spending a lot of my time with them," she adds. "Obviously, I wanna take my time, but I'm very happy and very content, and it's such a good feeling just to be at peace."
April 8, 2022: They make their public debut as a couple.
Kim and Pete make their glamorous public debut as a couple at the Los Angeles premiere of Hulu's The Kardashians, the family's new reality show. For the occasion, Kim wears a skintight silver Thierry Mugler latex gown featuring a thigh-high slit, paired with a statement metallic choker.

On Instagram, Kim shares a PDA-filled photo of her and her boyfriend from later that night. "Late nite snack," she captions the post.
April 13, 2022: Kim might want kids with Pete.
Kim drops a big hint that she wants to have kids with Pete in an Access interview. During a game of superlatives, the Kardashian–Jenner sisters are asked which one of them is most likely to have six kids, just like their mom, Kris. While everyone easily raises a photo of Kourtney Kardashian—Kim, who currently has four kids from her marriage to Kanye, additionally holds up one of herself.
April 24, 2022: They have another public date night.
The couple has a low-key date night while supporting the comedian's friend Jon Stewart as he accepted the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
Kim and Pete skip the red carpet at the celebrity-studded affair, but are photographed looking cozy inside.
August 2022: They're still going strong despite the long distance.
Though Pete has been busy filming his latest movie, Wizards!, in Australia, the couple is still finding ways to make their relationship work.
"Kim loved visiting Pete in Australia in July. They had been apart for several weeks and they enjoyed a long weekend together," a source tells People. "Pete is still filming, but will be finished now in August. He has another project in the U.S. though, so he will continue to be busy."
The insider adds that Kim "is just excited that he will be back in the U.S. soon. The long distance hasn't been easy for Kim, but they are making it work. They are still very happy. They are very much a serious couple."
August 2022: They call it quits.
Per People, Kardashian and Davidson have officially ended their romance. According to E! News who first broke the news, the pair's busy working schedules and being long distance contributed to their decision to part ways.
"[Kim and Pete have] a lot of love and respect for each other," a source told the outlet. "[But] they found that the long distance and their demanding schedules "made it really difficult to maintain a relationship."
