A whole lot of characters have strolled the halls of Degrassi Community School.

Unlike the '80s shows Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High, Degrassi: The Next Generation stuck around long past senior year, running 14 seasons from 2001 to 2015. (That's without getting into Degrassi: The Next Class.) The franchise has a long, long legacy of wild story lines centered on the extreme ups and downs of teen life.

We're hosting a class reunion, digging back through the lives and careers of the actors of Degrassi: The Next Generation to see what they've been up to in the years since the show ended.

Drake (Jimmy Brooks)

Before Drake made it big as a rapper, he was simply Aubrey Graham, the Canadian teen who played Jimmy Brooks. Jimmy was a basketball star, who was shot by another student in season 4. Paralyzed from the waist down, Jimmy stays at Degrassi until graduating in season 7.

The end of Drake's time on Degrassi marked the start of his successful music career. He's released several studio albums — all of which hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 — and has won multiple Grammys, including Best Rap Album for Take Care. He's also popularized the term "YOLO" and become an Internet meme many times over. In 2018, Drake reunited many of his Degrassi cast mates for his "I'm Upset" music video, and in 2022, he released his seventh studio album titled Honestly, Nevermind.

The TV actress has also had roles in films like The Roommate (2011), The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012), Let's Be Cops (2014), Love Hard (2021), and Redeeming Love (2022).

Shenae Grimes played Darcy Edwards, first introduced in season 4 as a conservative, Christian girl. Her story line took a dramatic turn in season 7, when she's sexually assaulted at a party. She becomes depressed and tries to commit suicide, but eventually gets better and moves to Kenya to help build schools.

Grimes left Degrassi after being cast on the CW's 90210, where she played Annie Wilson, a character partly based on Brenda Walsh from the original Beverly Hills, 90210. The show aired for five seasons, and shortly after filming the series finale, Grimes tied the knot with musician Josh Beech. During her time on 90210, she also appeared in Scream 4 (2011) and Empire State (2013), and went on to book roles in a handful of TV movies and starred on the short-lived police procedural The Detail.
