Paul Anderson Obituary

Paul Francis Anderson passed away peacefully in Chicago on November 27, 2023, with his family at his side. The precipitating cause was emergency surgery for a hernia, from which he was unable to recover. Born November 18, 1938, in Boston, to Francis and Elizabeth (née Sheehan), Paul lived a long and very full life, building lasting relationships with friends and colleagues all over the world. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary, his children Matthew and Joshua and their spouses Anne and Katherine, his grandchildren Miles, Owen, Charlie, Liam, and Vivian, and his sister Judy Dorney, who all loved him dearly and will carry him with them in their hearts forever. A memorial will take place in Chicago in 2024 at a date to be determined.

Mary,
I'm saddened to have just learned of Paul's passing. Of the many partners I had the privilege to meet and work with, Paul always was a gentleman. Tough but fair, and always demanded the best. I respected him a great deal.

We are so sorry, Mary and family. I admired Paul and thought he was one of the nicest and best of our classmates. He also was one of the only members of the class younger than I.
