Kate Moss has confirmed her relationship status after her boyfriend Nikolai von Bismarck gifted her a diamond ring.
In a new interview with the Telegraph, the British model – who has been in a relationship with the photographer for five years – revealed that the 33-year-old gifted her a diamond ring as her left hand was looking ‘a bit empty’.
‘Oh, no, I'm not engaged,’ she clarified when sparking speculation about a possible engagement.
‘It's more like, I'm in a relationship, I'm committed,’ the supermodel said of the jewellery ‘from the boyfriend’.
The publication reports that the gift is a vintage emerald and diamond ring and she wears it every day.
‘I think after you've been married, that finger feels a bit empty,’ the mother-of-one continued. Moss split from her ex husband Jamie Hince in 2015 after four years of marriage.
‘It was an “I'm going out with you, and I have a very empty finger, so give me a ring” kind of present,’ she said of her beau’s kind gesture.
Despite the pair’s long-term relationship, they’ve been keen to keep their romance relatively private, but Moss did open up to the publication about their mutual love of jewellery shopping.
‘He's into it,’ she said of the past-time. ‘I think some men take just as much pleasure in giving jewellery as we do in receiving it.
While the star does ‘like it when men wear jewellery’, like a ‘nice chain’, she’s not sure her boyfriend would be into wearing it. ‘I can't imagine Nikolai in it,’ she said. ‘It's definitely not his thing.’
The star also recalled a moment a stolen piece of jewellery was returned safe and sound to her.
‘I always take jewellery on holiday - I love wearing it on the beach and in the sea; I think it's so decadent,’ she said.
'I'd taken this bracelet on a boat in Thailand and somebody nicked it. They sold it to someone in India, who came to London and sold it back to SJ Phillips. It was stamped, so they could identify it as mine; they called me and said, "We've got your bracelet," and gave it back to me.’
During the interview, the model also discussed her 18-year-old daughter Lila Grace’s love of jewellery.
‘She likes all the girly jewellery; she's not into antiques yet, so my jewellery is safe, for the moment,’ she joked, noting that she plans to give her daughter a diamond eternity ring her ex and Lila’s father, Jefferson Hack, gave to her after she’d given birth.
‘I have a lot of art deco pieces - I love the decadence of that era. I'm also really into that 1970s, hippy-deluxe kind of decadence,’ she noted.
