Attended the Ranger talk offered three time daily. Despite humid and hot weather, well worth the half hour in the sun. Highlighted the Wrights’ perseverance in the face of daunting conditions of weather, environment, and the challenge of discovery. Well designed visitor center with effective modeling. This visit a good complement to one in Dayton, Ohio

We arrived at Jockey Ridge around 7pm to hike and enjoy the views. Perfect time to go to get some beautiful photos and not in the heat of the day.

We could not walk up into the lighthouse since they are doing restoration, but seeing it is still amazing. The museum is very informative and to see the video on how they moved the lighthouse is amazing. They have a gift shop as well.

The views from the top of this lighthouse were awesome. I am not a fit person, but the climb was not too bad at all. There are railings all the way up to the top of a narrow spiral staircase. There are many landings to be able to catch your breath as well. It was well worth the climb just to see the views at the top.

We enjoyed our visit! Just know that if you want to go to the top of the lighthouse, you must purchase tickets online. There is no in-person option, so if you don't have cell service there, you're out of luck!
We did enjoy going to the top! People can only go up each flight of stairs one at a time though, so you do end up walking in shifts, but that breaks up the 10 flights of stairs anyway.

Really nice time. The info on sea turtles was great and they had some experts on the turtles. The children were so great to watch. I would comeback again. An afternoon well used.

Cape Hatteras is a treasure. Rented a condo “beach side” and enjoyed early morning walks on the beach. Saw a deer running on the beach…that was a first!
It’s quiet and “almost” untouched. Sat on the beach and enjoy dolphins and even sharks! A Humpback Whale skull washed up on shore the day before I arrived!
If you’re looking for quiet, local food places that are great, this is the place…fresh seafood daily!!
You won’t be disappointed…it’s a wonderful place to just relax and slow down. I will definitely go back!!!

I love Jennette’s Pier! It offers a great public beach access with bathrooms. The pier itself is only 2 bucks for a walk-on pass. But you may still access the entrance part of the pier without paying the fee. There is a nice gift shop and some historical displays about the pier. Been there many times.

This outdoor drama about the first English settlement on NCs coast has preserved the original 1935 play enhanced by 21st century theatrical techniques. Situated in an amphitheatre at the water's edge and secluded in a small wooded parkland, you'll forget your place in the modern world and become enmeshed in the struggles of these brave colonists. Be sure to eat before you go; the snack options are slim. You won't need sunscreen for the after-dark performance, but you will want mosquito repellant. And you might want to take a nap in the afternoon if you're accustomed to an early bedtime!

This boardwalk was a wonderful place to walk. There are lots of entrances along the way to get to shopping and restaurants. We had our dog with us and all enjoyed the area. Our dog even got some treats from the store owner.

It was very windy and cold when I visited, so I really didn't enjoy it much. Besides that, it was still beautiful to look at.

For $5 we had the privilege to visit this amazing home! The tour included historic information about the original owners and the happenings in early days! The basement museum contains lots of information through the years following the Knight family’s ownership. The home has been restored to preserve its original style including the Tiffany glass lighting!
