Must to visit place in Karlovy Vary. You can walk all the way up or cheat and use very unique cable lift. I was cheating of course. There is a small fee to be paid and off you go. Observation tower is walking distance from the cable lift station and there is a restaurant with the butterfly farm next to it. Entry to the tower is free of charge and there are steps up and down or lift in the middle. From there you can see the whole town of Karlovy Vary.

Absolutely stunning lookout. The lift was under maintenance apparently but i managed to climbed the 150 steps, it wasn’t that bad at all for average for healthy person. I went on Wednesday in November so there were no waiting times at all! Perfect! Went to their restaurant to refill the tummy, took some awesome photos in the beautiful autumn trees nearby. Worth it! If you dont visit here then you definitely do not officially explored karlovy vary town. Just make sure you take the right funicular/train, not the one in Imperial station as i made a mistake by going there. Tried to buy funicular ticket online but couldn’t find the button on the website. Czech website kinda sucks most of them.

Nice viewing point of Karlovy Vary. There is a lift that leads to it, but during my visit it wasn't working. There is a restaurant and a souvenir shop next to it, and for the kids a small playground and a butterfly house.

You can get there by lift or stairs. It has a spectacular 360° view of Karlovy Vary and surrounding areas. A must visit if you have a few hours! You can hike up from Karlovy Vary or take the lift car. From there you can hike down and enjoy nature.

Good observation point over old Karlovy Vary. It is reachable by feet over mild steep tracks over the hill or the one can purchase a ticket for a small up hill rope driven train. Observation tower has a lift and stairs, of course. For our great surprise - lift was free of charge.

Went up in Winter. Be prepared for cold weather with high winds but totally worth it for the view! Make sure to climb the tower on the top of the hill as it is free and gives you a 360 degree view of Karlovy Vary and the surrounding countryside.

I visited this tower during a day tour. The views from the tower are beautiful. You will find an restaurant as well with some animals behind the building which was also nice to see. The restaurant staff are friendly and the capucino is good.

Many of the visitors to Karlovy Vary over the centuries have visited here, including Goethe. A funicular takes up to the top of the hill the. You can take an elevator free of charge to go to the summit, there are also pleasant paths and hikes through the surrounding woods. There is also a restaurent and small zoo with many cute little piggies 🐷.

Lovely place to go atop karlovy vary, Czechia. There’s a funicular but also a somewhat medium level trail that will take you to the top. We enjoyed the views at the top and the kids enjoyed the playground. There’s also a restaurant and a butterfly museum there.

It was one of the nicest towers I've visited in the EU. 150 wide steps, all uniform construction, too, plus they are completely enclosed. I like the signs telling you what is in the distance from each section of the lookout area. There's an elevator as well. I imagine maintenance funds come from the cable car fees (which were reasonable) from Karlovy Vary, just behind the famous Grandhotel Pupp.

Nice place that you can reach by funicular railway or by foot. There you can enjoi de view of Karlovy Vary from the top of the tower. You can enjoy good food outside or inside the restaurant. Also some nice butterflies and animals like (small pigs, pony, white peacock)

I walked all the way on my own about 40 min. The view is amazing. Great restaurant nearby.

I am not sure why this place (or the colonnades in Karlovy Vary) are so special. Sure, it is some nice architecture to look at, but otherwise they mostly seem to have no function. If you are hanging around, they are a good reference point to find downtown, but to me they did not offer much else.

Must visit if you are a spa lover. This beautiful place offers n number of thermal spas. Natural spring water tasting is something very unique. Very very scenic place indeed. Parking was little difficult to figure out.

The church is located at the start of the Karlovy Vary promenade. The inside is nice but unfortunately locked for viewing.

A nice Baroque church, but nothing out of the ordinary by Czech standards The church is a cool and peaceful and is a good place to quietly reflect, but much of the time only the outer sections are accessible, and, while pleasant, it is not artistically different to many other similar churches in the Czech Republic

First let me say a visit to Karlovy Vary will blow your mind! It's a beautiful small "spa" town nestled at the bottom of a lush valley with multiple hot mineral springs offering passersby the opportunity to fill their specially designed porcelain cups with the mineral rich liquid. My visit to the Moser Glass Factory was one of the most interesting tours I've ever taken. You will find a small museum (where we unfortunately didn't have much time to spend there) filled with some of the most beautiful pieces of glassworks I've ever seen, a gift shop with items ranging from low-high, and a courtyard with some very interesting pieces of glass art. Eventually we made our way to the factory for a guided tour and it was unbelievable. The temperature inside the factory is well over 110 degrees while men are blowing, turning, shaping and cutting hot liquid glass into their end product. It is a process that didn't appear to have changed over the centuries. I would highly recommend a visit to this pearl of the Czech Republic. And if you can, afford yourself a small treasure from the Moser Glass Factory. It's a true Czech souvenir!

A visit to the Moser museum glass factory is well worth the trip. Although the factory is small, we had an english speaking tour guide who explained every aspect of the process in detail. The tour ended in the shop where you could buy various items handmade in the factory. They were quite expensive, however, after seeing that every piece is handmade it is understandable why.

Great tour or the plant. There are audio guides if you want a detailed talk of the history of glass making at Moser and the company’s history.I loved how detailed the structure’s are!

Small but interesting museum, even if you (like) are not terribly into the art of glass making.

I really enjoyed the English tour it’s not long at all about 20 minutes and another 20 minutes if you stay to watch the film in the museum.. but as a lover of glass and someone who had not idea of the companies history it was great ..

The museum is small but beautiful and the glass works are real peaces of beauty. You can find free parking at the place, the cafe has a very nice design and the the museum provides an audio guide explaining the history and the works of art at the place After the museum you can find the glass shop where you can find beutiful glasses and vases for a bit of high price but the quality is amazing

The hotel bar is stunning. The service was good and the interior is just amazing. Take your time to get a drink here. The Cafe Pupp is a typical coffee house. Service is well and the cake was amazing. Carrot cake has his own tradition here.

I couldn't be more excited that I got to stay in this fabulous hotel! You may have seen it on Last Holiday with Queen Latifah or in Casino Royale with Daniel Craig. The hotel is alongside the river that runs through the town in a very scenic part of Czech Republic. My room was a suite that overlooked the town and the river. The hotel prices were very reasonable for a five star hotel. The service was impeccable. The breakfast and lunch were served in the part of the dining room with a big beautiful square bar in the center and a ceiling many floors high. The concierge was very helpful. The spa is excellent. The thermal waters are about a 10 minute walk away. I enjoyed the cafe on the ground floor. The hotel is certainly a grand hotel from another era, very elegant with exceptional service. I enjoyed walking along the river and looking at the unusual architecture of the buildings and seeing the shops. My room was large with very high ceilings and doors. The entry had floor to ceiling closets and a handy place to lay out the suitcase and hooks for coats. The bathroom was large and very elegant and contemporary. I would certainly come back!

A very beautiful hotel, I recommend staying there. The reception staff is very friendly and good at dealing with customers, especially Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud, to whom I extend my thanks and appreciation for his fine ethics in dealing. Absolutely beautiful hotel! The cleaning staff is the best I've ever seen as well! We would leave for 30mins to eat breakfast and we'd come back to a spotless room! Speaking of breakfast the hotel breakfast was good but the sitting in the dining room was even better! Every small detail is beautiful here and I highly recommend paying extra for a room with a view.

There are two vastly different sides to this hotel. One is average accommodations and the other, facing the front of the property is very elegant. Wes Anderson was clearly focused on the front property when using this hotel as part of the inspiration for his Grand Hotel Budapest movie.

I had very high hopes for this hotel given that its touted as a 5 star hotel but sadly I was very disappointed. The public areas of the hotel are beautiful and definitely up to par for a 5 star hotel. However the rooms are extremely dated and spartan. The furniture sadly looks like it has not been changed since the 60s. In this modern age of travel, there are some things that I expect are given in any 5 star hotel worth its salt. Unfortunately this hotel did not have the most critical of things - there are no electrical plugs within easy reach of the bed. We found one miserable one way across this very large room. No USB sockets in sight. The light controls for the room also makes no sense. If you turned off the central light control there is no way to turn on the bathroom light on its own. I had to use my phone torch to grope my way to the bathroom. What is most disturbing is that I booked myself a Riverside - Superior Suite front view after reading all the reviews of other travellers. I was unfortunately sadly disappointed. What I got was I guess technically accurate, I did have a view of the river but definitely not the glorious view of the river at the front of the hotel that I was expecting. I feel I was sold a bill of rotten goods. When I queried this, the first person told me that I did not make mention of the river in my booking in spite of it being documented in the communication. The Night Manager called and told me there was nothing they could do as the class of rooms was sold out for the night. Given a disappointed who made the effort to let you know that all she saw was the car park and was very disappointed I would have upgraded them to a better room but of course that was not offered. But that's just me. So travellers beware. Technically I got a river but it looked like a ditch with construction site nearby, a casino and a car park. Not the glorious views that was promised. #maneklady #manektravels

Grandhotel Pupp is undoubtedly the most prestigious hotel in KV - a marvel which still stands triumphantly to remind us of glorious times. However it still needs a lot work to meet the nowadays 5* standards. While the management is definitely trying to offer an unique experience, there is a lot of room for improvement in terms of (1) service - only 2 of the staff really have 5* mentality: the night receptionist on May 26 and the ever-smiley lady in the breakfast area; moreover the cleaning ladies don't make any effort in ensuring a seamless stay, on the contrary, they are very loud; (2) the accommodation - although we've booked a renovated room, which also supposed to be "quiet", to our surprise, due to lack of soundproofing and now missing hallway door which once served as noise buffer, it managed to catch all the possible noise (from the loading dock outside, from the cleaning personnel, from the neighbors, from the very loud ambient music which could serve as an efficient alarm clock every day at 10am); (3) the food - just plain, ordinary at best. Overall no value for money and not a recommendation.

I have 1 night in this hotel with my family. The staffs are very polite and friendly. The location is very good and the architecture of hotel is very beautiful. I love the breakfast so much. I will comeback for next holiday. Thank you very much

I can't believe this hotel is 5 stars. It only looks luxury from outside. This hotel is just a hype. We booked the superior room which is in the main building. The room was very outdated. The bathroom in this room was completely different from what we booked. Their website doesn't have a picture of the bathroom that we got, so be careful when you book dont trust the pictures. The shower stall in the bathroom was old and tiny, similar to the size you would get on the cruise ship. It only had a small handheld shower head. I uploaded the pictures of the bathroom, and you won't find this on their website. We wanted to change the room since it didn't look even near to what we booked, and we were told that there were no other rooms available. There were no outlets on each side of the bed to charge the phones. The outlets were located in very inconvenient places. This hotel has a spa with the pool and sauna. There was no place in our bathroom where we could hang wet swimsuits to dry. It wasn't thought out. Their breakfast was limited, and every day, they would serve the same thing with no variation. On weekends, if you go to eat after 9 am, expect to stay in the line because they dont have enough seats to accommodate everyone. I just want to mention that we also stayed in 5 star Luxury Olympics hotel and that hotel is definitely luxury and 5 star. Grandhotel Pupp was a complete disappointment after what we experienced in the Luxury Olympics hotel. That hotel has very nice rooms, exceptional service and their breakfast was outstanding. I will not come back to Grandhotel Pupp again.

Grand Hotel Pupp is amazing. Like a movie scene. I had a memorable stay in the hotel. The reception, concierge, restaurant...all were very kind and welcoming. The spa was very good. I had massage therapies from Tetiana and she went beyond my expectations. She is very experienced and gifted. After couple of sessions with her, my problematic arm issue was doing much much better. Thanks to her care and attention. Grand Hotel Pupp is an exceptional place. I'll come back.

A Beautiful Hotel with Disappointing Service My family and I recently stayed at the Grand Hotel Pupp in Karlovy Vary for three nights. The hotel itself was gorgeous, full of history and old-world charm that you could see all around. It felt special to be in a place with so much history. But, even though the hotel looked like a five-star place, the service didn't measure up to what we expected. For example, one morning at breakfast, I asked for a lemon and they said no, which seemed strange for such a fancy hotel. Another time, we wanted to bring some chairs together at the bar to sit with our friends, but the staff wouldn't let us. They told us to wait half an hour for a bigger table instead. These things might seem small, but they made us feel like the hotel didn't care much about our experience. When you pay a lot for a hotel, you expect the service to be top-notch, and it wasn't. It was a letdown, especially in such a beautiful place.

We used the Beaches bar 3 evenings in a row, sat at the bar no problem, just to be told by the hostes Nicole that we can't sit at the bar on the Friday evening, as we do not have a reservation. If we knew we needed to book, we would have booked. Absolutely ruined our stay. Very upset as this was a birthday treat. Our money should get the deserved respct.

It has been an otherworldly, delightful experience to stay at the Grandhotel Pupp. A magnificent grandhotel of historical European grandeur that, although seemingly frozen in time, hasn’t lost any of its original splendour. High quality service, cuisine and spa in the charming city of Carlsbad. Highly recommended!

We were so excited to stay at this historical hotel, but so much disappointment that we considered leaving early. First off, check-in took forever, not sure why. We got very little information about hotel and facilities, other than the receptionist saying all the opening hours are on the little envelope the room key comes with. Room was nice, we stayed on the parkside, modern, clean. However, toiletries are not 5* quality. Daily room cleaning did not change towels, or replenish any of the toiletries we had run out of. Nice touch with toiletries for kids, especially since they’re Little Prince. Breakfast was the worst part. We could not find one single person who spoke English. We asked for a cappuccino with an extra shot of espresso, this seemed the equivalent of asking them to go to the Moon. Selection was very sad, we love to try local food wherever we go, but the options were just not there. The little sausages were stale, they had some dessert glass cups that I noticed were left over from the dinner buffet, those eventually go stale too. Lack of to go cups for a 5* hotel is surprising. There are 10 employees working the breakfast buffet and they all sit and gossip, very communist attitude. Maybe it worked for when the hotel had a bunch of Russians, but the management should consider hiring personnel who can speak English, German, etc. I can’t imagine how all these celebrities come and stay at this hotel and then no one at breakfast speaks English?! Plus, they need to work on their attitude, less gossip and more welcoming towards guests who pay a good deal of money to stay here. Lack of egg options, with more modern accompaniments, like avocado toast, etc, would definitely lift the quality of breakfast buffet. Also, replace the coffee machine with a good one, coffee comes out so hot. I know you can have good coffee in the cafe of the hotel, but this is a must for breakfast. Pool and spa area were nice, clean and I like that you can use your room key for lockers and to access the parking. Lastly, there was the spa convention party at this hotel and they decided to load everything in their vans at 2 AM, literally ruined our sleep. Staff was unapologetic and really did not care when we told them about it.

The hotel is exceptional! Everybody is very friendly, the rooms are great, there is a nice spa area and so on. It’s hard to list all the great things this place has to offer. Definitely stay there when you are in the area.

Normally my reviews are as short as I dare. This time though I have to make an exception. So here it goes. Great bar service in all bars, ok in the restaurant. Hotel chef's food was excellent. On the other hand, the Michelin Event on the 16th Feb-Mr.Jacob Jan Boerma it is a night to forget. From too salty until too sour, from undercooked to overcooked, lukewarm when supposed to be hot, sightly runny when expected frozen and I could keep going on and on. I will surely come back to the Hotel, hopefully to eat like I'm used to .

Since within a COVID-era some faith and belief in assertive forces are necessary for all and everywhere it's good time and chance to remember about this very modest and patient kostel on the very embankment of Tepla. Yes, it's not really impressive and without any wow-effects but it's so attractive with its quietness and generous patience that when you go to the springs from Sanssouci or Imperial you could find just five minutes to admire this atmosphere and acquire a part of its energy. Every time there were catchy tunes of some electronic pipe organ, none disturbing you and dimmed lights. Prices for candles are very affordable. Not sure that this place is to be visited especially if you stay, say, at the other end of the resort zone but if you have your vacations close to that - simply enter it to be inspired by some positive energy - no matter which faith you belong to.

Overall i'd give this place five stars if the tour wasn't so short and quite boring. The massive indoor spring was super cool. The water that you could drink was hot and had minerals. (I preferably don't like it) And the people there spoke many languages and were quite nice. 👍

Nice place to hide especially when there is a rainy day. There are 3 thermals springs, the hottest in the area (72 Celsius) and the coolest (30 Celsius). There are some souvenirs shops, a toilet (10 kronen per person) and a couple of relaxing chairs. Also there is a coffee shop and if you want to sit and rest your feet for a while you can sit on the marble near the windows; it is warm.

Our first "major" stop during our road trip back to Lithuania from Germany. We did not expect anything special, since it is winter period after all, how ever we ended up being surprisingly pleased. We have never been in Czech Republic before and so, we thought it is a good idea to take a peak inside of it as we drove back. And to be honest, it surely has its ups and downs. For example, the nature is really beautiful regardless of the fact that it is winter. But that is not what I am writing about. This natural spring fountain got us surprised. In the morning we just saw a large cloud of vapor coming out from the river and we went to investigate it. And then we saw that fountain, which occasionally spurs out some vapor. It was my personal first time encountering this type of a sight. However, it was not as spectacular as some may describe. But overall, a decent sightsee to see if you end up in Czech.

I have been visiting the hot spring colonnade for many years and over the years it changed a lot and also some aspects didn't change at all. They always sold items here, like mineral water drinking cups, petrified roses, porcelain, and glass. Now there are a high number of stands with cheap Chinese stuff. The entire atmosphere was not pleasant and I got dirty feel from it. The colonnade used to be light, with clean glass and a lot of plants inside. There is no entrance fee and the colonnade closes at 6pm.

I only stood from the outside to take pictures because it was closed when I got there. Too bad I didn’t have time to go there earlier. Anyway, it’s immaculate and very much worth seeing in person. It’s also a nice walk if you’re coming from the lower part of the town. Nice views of baroque architecture and German / French influences.

An impressive looking Orthodox place of worship in Karlovy Vary The cathedral is done in beautiful Russian Orthodox style. The interior is done in a traditional fashion and services can be attended here. The icons are worth looking at and it is a good place to respectfully visit

Recently renovated with loads of gold leaves, the shiny tops of this luxuriously looking orthodox church are glistening like flames of gold under the bright Czech sun. The renovation has fully brought to life the bright colors and rich decorations of this majestic looking piece of architecture. Interiors are also very bright and full of colors. Be careful not to wear shorts or you will not be allowed inside during Sunday functions.

One of the most beutiful charges I have ever seen, even compared to Rome, Paris, Israel and many other churches around Czechia and Germany. The colors are beutiful and entry is free and the interior is very special with icons of the last russian tzar and his family. It is a truly uniqe place and a must for any vist in Karlovy Vary

It is park located in Karlovy vary. It is beautiful to enjoy. It has hot water springs nearby,water is a bit salty but you must drink in local souvenir jars.you can have them as a memory.

Looks well-maintained. Don't forget to bring your water jug/flask. Or do the old fashioned hand scoop to try out the water. We didn't try the water but we saw that most tourists did it, and they seemed to enjoy it!

Karlovy Vary are now quite unusual without the tourist infestation, many squares and avenues are empty - and renovations and repairs of collonades are catching up. Some springs are closed due to installations of new basins or other such works, but most types of water are accessible.

This was an amazing trip to an amazing and beautiful town. THIS town is a must see and be ... the wells and springs, the old houses and hotels, its clean its awesome to see and eat there.
