Audience Member Not great, worth it for platinum pompadour Nick Cave Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member I had to see this when I heard Pitt's character was the one Johnny Bravo was based on. This is a great American film that tells of how we can overlook and throw away the good things that come to us. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member This is for the never-girl. Johnny is a singer that has dreams of forming a band and getting a record label and building a musical career. He also has a wild love life and strange demeanor and history with women. He gets great opportunities to settle down and get studio time/auditions, but somehow he always seems to mess his life up. "Now I can find it in the dark and that's a good thing for a guy to know." Tom DiCillo, director of Double Whammy, Delirious, Box of Moonlight, Living in Oblivion, and the documentary Down in Shadowland, delivers Johnny Suede. The storyline for this picture was good at times and painful others. Pitt was a bit rigid as the main characters and the plot had potential but didn't quite climatic. The cast also includes Richard Boes, Nick Cave, Alison Moir, and Peter McRobbie to go with Brad Pitt's leading performance. "Now is a fly's fart in the wind." I came across this on Netflix and decided to give this old Pitt picture a shot. I can tell you this is ridiculous. The content is a bit all over the place and at times seems serious and well written and others seems to be making fun of itself. Overall, the film is uneven and disappointing. Grade: C- Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Terrible. Makes it hard to believe Pitt became a star Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Struggling musician goes by the name of Johnny Suede. Film could have easily been called Johnny Boring or Johnny Dull. Not much happens in this film. Johnny just tries to sort out his music career and dating life without much success in either area. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Frances H Some humorous moments, but too dull. Just couldn't finish it. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/21/14 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
