My time at eastern tech so far has been filled with ups and downs. I have learned a lot and they have provided me with my opportunities such as hospital volunteerism and team management
Eastern Technical was my dream school! I wanted to enroll in the law magnet and besides Eastern only one other school offered law but Eastern is a 100% magnet program school. I knew I would be with like minded students who were serious about their academics and Eastern Technical did not disappoint from my freshman year entering during Covid to now the staff, administrators, coaches and students have been amazing. I wish I had the chance to attend in person all 4 years.
This school is great for college readiness but the school does not care about the students.
The only good thing about this school is that they make you work like a dog, so you will be prepared for college. The students here are smart and have a good head on their shoulders, but are workaholics and are absolutely miserable. If you plan on coming here, be prepared to teach yourself all of your classes; the teachers here aren't great. The workload is very heavy, and students are constantly being pressured to take more difficult classes. The school got rid of the option to take the GT level of a lot of courses, leaving only honors and AP as options, and students who don't want to feel dumb or hurt their GPA end up taking way too many APs. The school also does not care about their student's mental health. We have no funding for the arts: they straight up cut the entire chorus program. I, being a student who really enjoys choir, found this devastating.

Eastern Technical High School is great for students who have an area of interest they are determined to pursue a career in. This school prepares you for the hardships of college and allows you to focus on your own areas of interest. You are given time inside of school hours to get help with your studies and socialize with others. We are also given time outside of school to bond through events throughout the year and play sports which have been growing over the past few years.
I love Eastern Tech. The school environment is very welcoming while also competitive. Many of the student and teachers push you to be a better student. Additionally, students are kind and generally teachers of all subjects are supportive and helpful. However, the expectations can be a bit much at times. Many teachers fail to realize the enormous amount of stress and responsibilities students can have, and sometimes value solely work completion, not mental health.
Eastern Tech has provided it's students with great experiences to prepare them for college and postsecondary education and experiences. Although the administration at the school is very out of touch with students causing issues to occur when rules change. The administration mainly focuses on issues that aren't major issues within the school rather than focuses on issues that need to be dealt with. Overall great for academics but administration needs to reevaluate their structure and motives.
Eastern Technical High School is really good at a variety of things. They provide a lot of resources when it comes to having time to complete schoolwork with their "MavTime." Teachers provide a lot of support in their MavTime which is useful if you are struggling. I have not had a bad experience with a teacher. Usually the only time you will see yourself failing or having a hard time will be due to the fact you didn't do something yourself.
Eastern Tech’s academics and diversity is what makes our school great but outside students don’t know how little administrators care about the students.
I would like for teachers to be more understanding of the fact that their students also have lives outside of school and piling homework assignments on top of homework assignments isn’t beneficial for anyone. However, not every teacher was like this which is always a plus.
Eastern Tech is a school that heavily emphasizes academics. Most of the students succeed in their classes to some extent and overall the quality most pushed for in students is good grades and test scores. The biggest complaint I have is the lack of care for student mental health. Students have reached out numerous times to the school administration, as it is well known that our school prioritizes success over health, yet nothing seems to be done about it. The school faculty is a mixed bag between teachers that are there to make real connections with their students and teachers that will assign you 12 assignments a night with no regard to your other classes. The school realizes just how much the students struggle, but they make no real attempt to try to help them. Yes, we are smart and do well academically, but in our real life, we are unable to take care of our mental well-being.
I enjoyed the memories I made with the students there through school/club hosted events. Some of the teachers were nice and I was able to build a relationship with them outside the normal class time period. However senior year, there were some issues handled by administration that didn't sit well with me. For instance, racism and the can/can't of how clubs operate.
My experience at Eastern Technical High School was an extremely valuable one. There are a lot of resources for academic help and opportunities for higher education or accolades such as honor societies, blood drives, and honorifics for clubs. Students conduct themselves with academic dignity, and good teachers are the majority. The school is also completely safe. Facilities are clean but limited. The school is objectively one of the best for a progressive academic environment and I've met truly brilliant people and made formidable connections.
Eastern Technical High School was an interesting experience that required a lot of hard work and effort in order to pass. During my in-school years, a lot of work was given to me at a time, meaning I had to sacrifice a lot of time in order to get it done. That included ditching certain habits. This school taught me what to take into priority when it came to school and what needs to get done now and later. It also has instilled study habits that I had to pick up on my own as well as discipline to be focused and not get distracted. Outside of that Eastern Tech is made out of a variety of different students from many different backgrounds, some from poorer places, some from other countries. A very diverse school with many views on life. Some of the down sides include too much work at a time that it can feel overwhelming. Sometimes the staff or even the counselors like to help the school rather than the students, working for themselves rather than the students.
Eastern Tech has a very diverse student population and a staff that's ready to provide the students with the best education possible. There are 8 career "programs" and the Law and Public Policy program is great for anyone interested in law and politics. The administration do the best they can to resolve any issues in school and provide an overall safe environment
The Allied Health magnet program at Eastern Tech has been an excellent way to gauge my interest in the medical field, as well as presenting many pathways into the field during my senior year. I also enjoy Eastern's rigorous workload, which has allowed for me to know my academic strengths and weaknesses and evolve my study methods to match the rigor of my classes.
It was a really good experience with a lot of resources and support. They prepared you for college and taught valuable skills.
The best part of Eastern Tech would have to be cultural coalescence. It is an event that happens once a year where students get to share aspects of their culture. Time is taken out of the school day for dances, cultural food, games, art, and presentations. It is one of the most beautiful events I have ever been to. I also love mavtimes. They are an opportunity to talk to teachers about classwork, catch up on missing assignments, go to clubs and study halls, or hang out with friends. My worst experience with Eastern Tech would have to be the school building. It is small and old-looking. There is no track for the track team and there is no good soccer field for the soccer team. The football team is always losing. The food is lackluster and repetitive. At Eastern Tech, students will skip lunch because they either don't like what is being served or prefer to go to clubs instead (This was the first year they made us choose). The art department needs more funding and temp. is inconsistent.
