Freshman: Regarding my overall experience at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa, the university provides a colorful and enriching campus experience that has left me feeling overall positive and ready to learn on a day-to-day basis. There are various options of food to choose, and the numerous types of activities, opportunities, and clubs cater to a wide range of interests, which in return fosters a feeling of community! It is simple to say that this campus aides in a well rounded education and therefore will create a well-rounded student! My biggest joy has been witnessing the professors here at UH Mānoa have the passion, dedication, and enthusiasm for their students and the subject(s) they teach. While larger class sizes and lecture halls are common, I would appreciate more smaller, interpersonal classes. Junior: My experience at Chaminade University in Hawaii Is overall a great and well-spent experience. The staff and faculty are overall kind towards you and are interested in interacting with the students inside of class and outside of class. I liked how small and diverse the students are here. I get to connect myself with students from all portions of the world especially on the Pacific Islander side. I learn along the way the different cultures, tradition, as well as the languages that my ethnic friends speak. I also like how relationships are easily made here at Chaminade due to the fact that the population of the university is equally small so it gives you the benefit to make new friendships as well as relationships with your professor and so on. Furthermore, what I would like to see change is definitely new renovations such as improvements within the transportation alternatives. Freshman: The first day I entered the campus grounds I was overwhelmed that I knew I would fit in. I love the environment because it reminds me of back home in the islands. Freshman: I have recently been accepted into the University of Hawai'i at Hilo. I don't know much about the college itself, but what I do know is that UH Hilo provides you with many resources and support. They will help you with any questions you may have, and help you feel accepted. You feel like you already belong there once you take that first step onto campus. University of Hawai'i at Hilo has provided me with encouragement and support. Upon seeing where I will be living on campus, and the excitement of making new friends while attending UH Hilo, has motivated me to work hard so that I can graduate with honors. I really enjoy how welcoming and caring the current students, teachers, and even workers on campus are towards you despite not ever meeting you before. Alum: My time at Hawaii Pacific University was an overall great experience. I graduated in 2018 with my Bachelors degree in Marine Biology, and I still remain in contact with my college friends. We have bonded and "clicked" so well that even though we live in different states, we always pick back up as if nothing has changed. It's almost effortless. If I went to a different University then I wouldn't have the close friends I have today. I also loved my college professors as well. In the Marine Biology program, my cohort had excellent teachers who really cared about the students. I went to many office hours to receive the help I needed since Marine Biology is not an easy major. Sophomore: This being my first college experience since graduating high school, it has been an amazing journey thus far. As a current sophomore, I can recall several "God moments" that have made my studying of scripture and theology here eye-opening. From the professors, to the context of what we are studying, to the surrounding community of other believers, to even the messages being delivered by students at our chapel services, all of it has been tremendous. Although the campus is separated by two locations, the classes are small enough to earn the attention of your professors, and to have meaningful conversations with fellow students for group projects and homework. If you are looking for a college, that focuses developing your hermeneutics, while having a heart to reach the world, then be sure to put Pacific Rim Christian University at the top of your list of Christian colleges to choose from in Hawaiʻi....
