John Simpson launches new BBC Two current affairs programme Unspun World

Unspun World will cover the biggest international news stories with analysis from BBC correspondents.

A new weekly current affairs programme, Unspun World, will launch on BBC Two on Wednesday 23rd February, 11.15pm.

The programme is presented by BBC News World Affairs Editor, John Simpson. The veteran broadcaster will have conversations with BBC correspondents from across the globe, providing expert analysis of the international stories shaping our world.

The 30-minute broadcast will showcase the expertise of the BBC’s global reporting talent, across BBC News and BBC World Service. New Broadcasting House in London will be the home of the show, but also tap into the BBC’s worldwide network of correspondents.

Speaking about the new show, BBC World Affairs Editor and presenter John Simpson says: “I am incredibly excited to launch my new BBC Two programme, Unspun World. The show provides a fantastic opportunity to display the BBC’s huge range of experts across the globe, and get their specialist analysis of big issues.

“We will provide the unvarnished truth, no spin and no hiding from key subjects. Our balanced and thoughtful take on these matters will provide the audience with a new key fixture in their weekly TV schedules. After all, there are a plethora of exciting stories to cover and a chance to utilise the BBC’s knowledge and prowess from around the globe. I can’t wait to get started.”

He has reported from over 100 countries, recently embarked on another trip to Afghanistan, covering the new Taliban regime.

You can watch Unspun World every week on BBC Two, Wednesday 23rd February at 11.15pm. You can also catch-up on BBC iPlayer. The programme will also be broadcast on the BBC News Channel and BBC World News.
