Frank D'Angelo Obituary

Just hearing about Frank´s passing on SportsTalk. I came to know Frank during when he developed the Bloomsburg Practicum in the Bethlehem/Easton school districts. What a remarkable educator and fabulous person. He´s gone too soon for sure, but his teaching that inspired so many future educators will continue to live on in their lives. Here´s to a true friend and educator!

Please accept our deepest sympathy and condolences with the loss of Frank. He truly will be missed by all especially his family. Frank was a good friend, an excellent ref, and an excellent organizer. May GOD bless you and your family during this time of sorrow and loss.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. Frank and I knew each other through our involvement in sports while attending Bloomsburg together and then while he was reffing and I was working at The Morning Call. He was a good man and will be missed.

My sincere condolences to Frank's entire family and friends. I came to know Frank through the PIAA and ECFOA. Frank was always willing to extend another official a helping hand whenever necessary. Frank will be surely missed but his spirit will continue to inspire others to continue to pursue their goals educationally and professionally.

Our thoughts & prayers are with you at this time . I have fond memories of waiting on Frank &his lovely wife Jean at Ecco Domani . I always enjoyed waiting on them & enjoying great conversations! Upon one of our conversations we discovered that my husband had literally ran into Frank when he was officiating a football game - the story always brought us laughter & ironically we were just at an event at Moravian & Franks name came up & we were all talking about him . Great guy amazing educator & sports official . Very sorry to hear this news . May God give you all strength to get through these times .

Frank was my mentor who helped me transition from a public school teacher to a university professor. While at Bloomsburg University, he helped me in his friendly welcoming manner. I thank Dr. Cherie Roberts for her updates to the happenings at Bloomsburg since my retirement. We sadly have lost another great educator, yet Frank´s influences live on. RIP professor emeritus, Dr. D´Angelo.

Frank was the best professor I had at Bloomsburg. He was always so energetic and made us feel welcome. I enjoyed being apart of the Easton/Bethlehem teaching practicum that he put together. My father and Frank would referee basketball games together and I know my father thought highly of Frank as well. He will surely be missed by both communities.

Frank official and educator and even better person

Frank was such an inspiration to me as an educator. He was always there with a joke to make me laugh and remind me why I was a teacher in the first place, even on the dark days. I had the privilege of having him both as a teacher in graduate classes and as a boss in my district. He was exceptional as both. Besides that, he was a good man, mentor, and friend. His impact may be the only reason I'm still in the classroom, and I will miss him. Thank you, Frank, for everything.

Frank was an angel of a man who made those around him better.
Always with a smile and a kindness for others. A life well lived my friend. Peace to your family.

My sincerest condolences to Frank´s family and close friends on his way too early passing. Whether working with him on the field or for him as a clock operator in CT, he was always very positive and friendly. He will be missed!!! RIP FRANK!!!

Sorry to hear about the passing of Frank. He was in charge of the basketball officials in Hazleton back in the late 80's. I had just started officiating and he was always very supportive. Good Guy gone to soon

The reffing community lost a great official!...So very saddened to hear of Frank's passing...thoughts and prayers to the family during this difficult time.

So sorry Frankie, you went way too soon. You were a great Official and Umpire and will be missed by hundreds of coaches and players.

My dad, Jim Bast, and Frankie refereed many basketball games together in Hazleton. Although I was a little kid, I still have fond memories of Frankie. They always had so much fun on the court and were great to watch. My deepest condolences to the family.

Always a delight to be around.
I myself had a morning client named Millie( older woman) They would always bander back and fourth. I only have good memories of Frank with his great smile and chatty conversations.He will be truly missed. A very humble man

Over the decades, on & off the court, we've had phenomenal "GREATS", that have immensely helped & influence many lives, in our regional area of Pennsylvania. Frank D'Angelo's thought wisdoms & humor, throwing us constant hidden hints of how to be GREAT!!! That is what made him & all of us great TOGETHER!!! Frank was my basketball interpreter for 5 years. He was an outstanding
speaker also. Whenever I saw Frank officiating any sport, especially basketball,
I knew the student athletes got one of the best officials in Pennsylvania.
Frank will be missed by so many people and athletes in the area.

My name is Nadine. I want to give my heartfelt condolences to the D´Angelo Family. He is at peace and rest. I went to Saint Joseph Memorial School and Bishop Hafey High School. Frank was a few years ahead of me. I remember the last name, my older brother might know him better. In school, we are all one body, one family. When something happens to one, it affects us all, or it should be that way. Frank suffers no more. Just remember all the good times you all had with him, and he will be waiting for you´s on the other side. Someday you will see him again.

I only knew Frank from reffing hoops. Was always nice to me. RIP Frankie.

We lost a great one...Frank was a great official, a class act. But more importantly a great person. It would be hard to measure the impact he had on the local sports scene, educational scene and beyond. May he Rest in Peace!

I am so sorry to see this. Frank was a good referee and I was always happy when I saw that he was doing one of my games when coaching. Fair, consistent, and helpful to the student athletes.
I ran in to him occasionally after retiring from coaching while he was walking the Boardwalk (in the Wildwoods) and I was out for a run. He was such a friendly and personable guy. I am sure he will be missed by many.

I can honestly say that Mr. D´Angelo was the best administrator I encountered during my years of teaching in Easton. He was such a compassionate man who was always ready to help staff or students in a professional yet gentle way. He has touched so many lives and I´m grateful that I had the opportunity to work with him. Prayers to his family and friends.

It was a pleasure knowing Frankon the field and off over the years in college football. Frank was one of the most kind compassionate and understanding people I have ever met. The National Championship Game is a memory that I will always cherish. The talks about life and football during our long rides home after games will always be remembered. The suffering ends but the memories live on forever.

Frank was instrumental in hiring me as a teacher in Easton. He was a generous, kind, and funny man who was always there if you needed him. He will be missed. My condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace.

Thank you for all the years of showing us what is good in high school sports, and the right way to approach the games as coaches, players, and fans. On behalf of the Area High School Baseball Program our condolences go out to the D´Angelo Family. Frank was a mentor and friend to both Coach LaDuca and Coach Hess both professionally and personally. His impact on all he touched was second to none. He will be sorely missed.
