Kody Brown is reflecting on what could have been following the collapse of his polygamous family within 14 months.

During part 3 of the Sister Wives Talk Back special, Kody, 54, admitted that his ex Christine Brown “fundamentally adjusted everything” when she came into the family after the pair got married in 1994.

He claims that she put the kibosh on another woman joining the family even before she became official with Kody, saying, “There was a woman that I was courting for a very long time before I married Janelle. Her and Meri were friends. After I married Christine, she still wanted to be family. Christine shut it down the first time because Christine and I were friends, she says, ‘I'd never marry you if you married her.’”

He added: “And then Christine had no interest in having her in the family after Christine had come into the family.”

However, Christine, 51, recalled her and Kody’s history differently, explaining, “I didn’t try to prevent Kody from getting married again. I just don't even remember her wanting to marry Kody. It's just a lie. I'm sorry, that's just a lie. And why is he living in the past? Why is this relevant to anything [now]?”

Kody shared that he was “going back” through their relationship because there were “sacrifices I made to love Christine.”

Janelle took issue with Kody’s stance, saying, “Oh man, the sacrifice to love you. I'm like, I would have decked him at that point. What the hell?”

This is not the first time that Kody has criticized Christine’s behavior during nearly 26-year-union. During November’s Sister Wives: One on One, Kody alleged that Christine never attempted to bond with his last of four wives, Robyn Brown.

“She was a s--- sister wife,” he said, also claiming Christine “never tried” and “was never there.”

After Christine announced the end of her plural marriage with Kody two years ago, she later confirmed her relationship with David Woolley in February. The pair got engaged in April and tied the knot in October.

As for Kody, both his second wife Janelle and his first wife Meri left the plural marriage within 14 months of Christine's departure. He is now only married to Robyn, 45.

During a conversation with PEOPLE this year, Kody revealed that he, Christine, Janelle, Meri and Robyn are all at "different" points in "accepting" and "rejecting" the changes that have come with the end of their decades-long polygamous arrangement.

"Every one of us is having our own struggle with the reality of this experience," he explained. "Every one of us is having a struggle with the fact that we have years together and now we're dissatisfied enough to say we can't work this out anymore."

The Brown family patriarch added that everyone's had "good days and bad days" during their collective experiences "going through divorce."
