Just one day after Patrice Bernier stated that promising Forge striker Woobens Pacius had signed with a Major League Soccer side, the 22-year-old forward has posted a farewell to his club.

The three-year Forge striker has amassed an incredible 32 goals in 93 appearances for the reigning CPL champions, for whom Pacius has lifted two league titles and featured in a Canadian Championship Final.

“After three seasons, the time as come for to say goodbye to this great club. And what a time it has been… I couldn’t have asked for a better welcome from you guys. It is now time for me to move towards new adventures,” said Pacius online.

The Terrebone, Quebec-born forward arrived as an unassuming midseason addition from the CF Montreal Academy in 2021, but quickly rose to prominence in Canada’s top flight. He tallied six goals after arriving in August, his follow-up campaign seeing him crack double digits on the scoring chart while also tallying a career-first hat trick during a run of form that saw him net seven goals in a run of six matches.

The phenomenal form that saw him earn a U-21 Best Canadian Player of the Year nomination continued in 2023, with a ten-goal league campaign highlighted by a second career hat trick and a strong run of form near the end of the season, where a foot injury sidelined him for playoffs.

“I just want to say thank you to all of you who make us feel so special,” continued the forward online. “You guys are by far the best fans in the league. You will always have a special place in my heart. I also want to thank the organization of Forge FCand the Canadian Premier League for the platform that the league as gave me to showcase my abilities and make me the player that I am today.”

It had long been reported that Woobens had turned heads in both Major League Soccer and Europe. While it’s unclear exactly what club has now signed the striker, it looks like Woobens will take his next steps in the US top flight – with early rumours suggesting a trip to Music City with Nashville SC may be on the cards.
