Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Kate WMold, UK40 contributionsWe are so thrilled this shop is still here and Alan is still telling everyone about his furniture. We've been coming here practically since it opened and have a number of different furniture pieces back home in North WalesWritten 18 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maggie NVentnor, UK129 contributionsVisit Isle of Wight runs this visitor centre and deals with tourism marketing on the Isle of Wight. The Guildhall is an iconic building, designed by the famous architect John Nash, who lived on the Isle of Wight for many years. A help desk faces the door as you enter and the receptionist is there to welcome you and ask if you need any help. There are free leaflets and brochures giving information about tourist attractions of all kinds, and there are also booklets, DVDs and souvenirs for sale. There are trail leaflets and booklets for walkers, cyclists, local history and beach lovers, about town trails, nature reserves, historic houses and a castle, museums and art galleries. There are leaflets about festivals of every kind, theatre programmes, rail, bus and ferry timetables. Something for everyone. Whether you are on holiday or resident on the Island, this is the best place to come for information about things to see and do, not forgetting where to stay, eat and drink. Whatever information you require, just ask at the desk and the receptionist will try to find out for you.
There are smaller tourist information points dotted about in the Island's towns. Look out for the signs above local shops that accommodate these.Written 5 July 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - HazzaNorfolkUpwell, UK146 contributionsA great museum with a fabulous gift shop. If you’re after some locally found fossils then this is the place, especially fossilised lobsters. Reasonable prices too. Lots of stuff in the shop to browse.Written 20 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - John WCroydon, UK72 contributionsLong sandy beach. Parking is £2.10 an hour and the loos are 20p and there was no water! I think disabled parking is free but it did not say so. You have steps to get onto the beach. Great ice creams at the shop far left hand side. The road is one way so head for the pier road.Written 30 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maz326Spain100 contributionsThoroughly enjoyed this walk.
Had it mainly to ourselves.
Take a picnic when out of season as not much open.
Some great trails especially where the coastal views are on a clear day.
N.b.this is fairly well served by buses.Written 12 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This replaced the tiny ‘Old Church, which is a few hundred meters away.Written 11 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GimmeSomeSunLondonEdlesborough, UK126 contributionsThe skynet was a hit with the kids (8 & 10 yr) as they needed something to ‘bounce’ around. You pay for 2 hours and there is a little kiosk and benches to sit whilst waiting. Boys had great fun and used up some of their energy. It’s in an enclosed area so very safe. There are public toilets nearby, so bring your own toilet paper/tissues.
The playground next door is more for the younger age. Mini golf and go karts are also next door, with a park and duck pond. So a nice area and if you want to take a picnic, lots of space. The beach is just across the road, so could combine all the activities.Written 30 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are some unexpected places to look so don't just look for the obvious, don't be afraid to look in every nook, cranny, crevis and cupboardWritten 25 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This was quite an experience and somewhat buffeted by the wind, on the chair lift. The views were good.
The facilities and attractions by the car park, are a bit "tacky"Written 22 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Interesting collection of local information and artefacts, well worth a visit. Dad enjoyed reminiscing about the war, husband enjoyed all the engineering references.Written 7 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - cherriesfan_9Cheltenham, UK6,589 contributionsBeautiful old church, (dating from the 12th Century), with a lovely peaceful atmosphere. - mariandyelbLeighton Buzzard, UK46 contributionsAmazing glass, superb colours what skill is required to produce these amazingly beautiful pieces. Staff were helpful, the museum upstairs was full of lovely glass from late 19th early 20th century . We were there 2 hours, we wet the glass blowers, the designers and the lady in the museum was very informative . If you are a crafts person then you will love this. I bought some beautiful tactile pieces, my partner is visually impaired and he was allowed to actually handle the glass. So thoughtful.Written 7 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
