Maine South High School Reviews
Rating 3.78 out of 5 542 reviews
Maine South High School has not prepared me for my future endeavors. They have failed every single student because of poor leadership and communication. This school needs new supervision because the department chairs do not know how to communicate respectfully to parents and students. The only good thing about this school are the sports that they offer that are decent. Nobody here is smart and nobody is going to good colleges. The counselors do not care about the future and forget to sent colleges the students high school transcript!
Maine South introduced students to materials preparing for college and allowed course selections according to majors students may have been interested in. There are lots of clubs, sports, and activities to get involved in as a student as well as opportunities to create your own clubs. The overall school has a lot of problems such as the roof leaking all over the school.
Maine South is a literal dump. Please I mean PLEASE do not send kids here. They will get a better education literally anywhere else. Integrated math program is a disaster and the resulting test scores are absolutely pathetic. Maine South did not prepare me for the SAT or ACT, and left me to teach myself most science and math concepts. Administration is another nightmare. They hate the student body and it shows. Fund allocation is not existent, we supposedly spent $295M on renovations, yet there is WATER COMING OUT OF CEILINGS daily. Mold growing on the roof, full of mice and jumping cockroaches and no SOAP AVAILABLE TO WASH HANDS. They claim 'Covid Funding is Over' and therefore tissues, soap, and sanitizer is no longer essential. This place needs to be investigated. THEY ARE VIOLATING HUMAN RIGHTS. WE MUST RESIST.
