Neal McDonough Says 'American Horror Story: Death Valley' Finale 'Won't Let You Down'

After only four episodes the second half of American Horror Story Season 10, titled "Death Valley," will be coming to an end.

The second half of the season focuses on alien invasions, namely the arrival of extraterrestrials during President Dwight D. Eisenhower's time in office and their subsequent deal with him.

It sees the aliens force the president (Neal McDonough) into letting them take over Area 51 and abduct American citizens for experimentation and impregnation, a deal that is still in effect in the modern day.

Ahead of the finale, which will air on FX on Wednesday, October 20, McDonough spoke to Newsweek about what fans can expect.

"The finale is pretty fantastic and epic," the actor said when asked to discuss the last episode in more detail.

Keeping plot details under wraps, McDonough added: "I don't want to go into storylines but, put it this way, the incredible mind of Ryan Murphy will not let you down in the final episode of 'Death Valley,' which is a promise."

McDonough made his American Horror Story debut in "Death Valley," and he also shared how sad he was to bid goodbye to a character like Eisenhower.

"I will miss playing Eisenhower!" he said. "For me, to play that All-American good guy... I really just loved jumping into this character more than most characters than I have in a long time because it's as close to me, as a character, that I've played in a long time."

Heaping praise on show, he added: "I generally never watch any of my stuff, I don't really like to watch my stuff too much unless I have to if it was a premiere or something, but this was different.

"I knew American Horror Story has a massive budget, they can do incredible things, the writing, [the] creativity of Ryan and Brad, it's something you really want to see...

"I sat down and watched it and was wonderfully blown away by how amazingly well put together the show is, feature films these days most of them pale in comparison to high-end television and this is high-end television at its finest.

"It's just awesome to watch and be part of it, and be part of it in such a way by playing Dwight D. Eisenhower."

McDonough went on: "Who makes it to 10 years in television? Not many, but what Ryan Murphy has put together is truly astounding and I'm blessed, blessed, blessed to be part of it."

American Horror Story Season 10 finale airs on FX on October 20, and the episode will be on Hulu the next day.
