I was completely engrossed and was unable to put it down til I was finished reading. This book had taken me on a ride I never expected and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time while making my head spin. The characters had showed much emotion and you either loved them or hated them but they make this story shine.
This was a well written book and if you love thrillers that have your complete attention that is filled with many twists and turns I suggest reading this book,

Based on the mostly excellent reviews I read before purchasing, I was disappointed. Some other reviews here capture my thoughts well - the grammar is poor, there are discrepancies in the character descriptions/plot narration, and the characters feel very shallow. The inner dialogue of both main characters is repetitive.
I didn't enjoy having so many descriptions along the lines of "she walked in the room with her $400 tan cashmere coat, grey pencil skirt, louboutin black pumps" etc. The descriptions of their clothing could be so much less specific, yet still make a more impactful point about the character's wealth/mental state (which was the author's goal for these descriptions, I think). This would have also let the reader use their imagination without taking them out of the realm of the story, which unfortunately happened to me each time.
The most unfortunate issue for me was the "plot twist" ending. Without giving any spoilers, there were too many discrepancies with other events in the book to actually make it make sense, and I thought a number of other characters could have provided a more shocking twist.
Great twist at the end. Worth the read!

A notable aspect is the narrative perspective, particularly Adam's portrayal. He transcends the role of a mere observer, evolving into a fully fleshed-out character with his own thoughts, emotions, and hidden truths. Rose masterfully crafts Adam, intricately weaving him into the web of secrets and lies that define the story. This nuanced character development is a distinctive strength, especially for readers who appreciate multi-dimensional protagonists.
"The Perfect Marriage" emerges as a genuine page-turner. Just when you believe you have deciphered the plot, Rose introduces unexpected twists that send your assumptions into a tailspin. This unpredictability adds an exhilarating dimension, transforming the story into a thrilling ride that keeps you eagerly turning the pages.
A minor critique pertains to pacing, with moments where the narrative feels hurried, akin to a movie in fast-forward. A more balanced pace, allowing the plot to marinate and unfold gradually, could have enhanced the overall experience. While not diminishing the book's enjoyment but a touch more refinement could elevate it.
On a deeper level, it prompts contemplation of societal perspectives. The recurring theme of women portrayed as villains, echoed in works like 'Gone Girl' and 'The Girl on the Train,' raises thought-provoking questions. While empowering to witness strong, intelligent women, the trend of depicting them as manipulative raises concerns. The narrative landscape seems to spotlight cunning and deceit as primary facets of female empowerment. While it doesn't diminish Rose's thriller, it sparks a crucial conversation about the portrayal of women in contemporary literature.
The conclusion of "The Perfect Marriage" is nothing short of a whirlwind. Like a rollercoaster hurtling at full speed, it leaves readers breathless and astonished. Rose's adeptness at sustaining suspense while concluding the narrative deserves commendation. Also, the ending shocked me most of all.
