Admission requirements

Application process

Mathematics requirement

1. Who can I contact about my mathematics level?
This depends on the timing of your question:

  • Did you not apply yet or have you just submitted your application, but no one looked at it yet/you did not get any information about it yet? In that case, please contact study@maastrichtuniversity.nl;
  • Did you apply for an SBE bachelor’s programme or Business Engineering and did we ask you for more information about the mathematics requirement to have it assessed by one of our academic staff members (task in Portal: ‘prove your sufficiency in mathematics’)? Then contact ba-admissions-sbe@maastrichtuniversity.nl

3. How does Maastricht University know that I passed the exam?
When you have finished the so-called OMPT-exam, you can inform mr. Dirk Tempelaar about this. He will then check your results and, if you pass the exam, create a certificate for you. SBE Admissions receives those certificates and will check them on a regular basis to inform the SSC Admission & Registrations Office of the outcome. The SSC will then process it in the system, which you will see in the MyApplication portal. To speed up the process, you can of course upload it yourself under ‘Prove your proficiency in mathematics’, then it will also be processed at the SSC Admission & Registrations Office.

Enrolment

  1. What do I need to do to complete my enrolment?
    You can see what you need to do to complete your enrolment in the MyApplication portal. Make sure to complete all open requirements.
     
  2. How / when / where do I need to submit the certified copy of my secondary school diploma?
    If the task “submit certified copy diploma” in your MyApplication portal is open, you are required to submit the certified copy of your diploma. You need to do this as soon as possible, but no later than 31 August.

  3. I sent the certified copy of my secondary school diploma to UM. Did you receive it?
    When we have received the certified hard copy of your diploma, we will process it as soon as possible. You can see if we have processed it in your MyApplication portal.
     
  4. When do I need to pay the tuition fee?
    As soon as the task “pay the tuition fee” in your MyApplication portal is open, you are required to pay the tuition fee. Make sure to do this as soon as possible, but no later than 31 August.
     
  5. Is my admission conditional? What are the conditions?
    To get fully approved, you need to fulfil all admission requirements. You need to meet the conditions als described in the conditional admission letter. In the MyApplication portal, you can see if there are any open requirements.
     
  6. Can I / when do I get a statement of enrolment?
    At the start of the academic year, you will receive a proof of enrolment. If you need this sooner, you can request a proof of enrolment via study@maastrichtuniversity.nl Please note that we are only able to provide you with a proof of enrolment as soon as you are fully registered. If you still have open requirements, we are not able to provide this document.
