Overview
In the Android operating system (OS), apps are bundled into Android Package Kit (APK) files that contain all of the necessary files for a single Android program.
- These apps are typically downloaded to Android devices via Google Play, or other stores that host Android apps. This is the default and standard UEM deployment for BlackBerry apps available in the store.
- The BlackBerry Android apps available in Google Play can also be manually downloaded onto Android devices from other sources. This is done by downloading them through a web browser on the Android devices (see the links to download in the table below) or through a USB.
- In an environment where Android devices do not have access to Google Play (for example, it is blocked in their country), the Android apps can be uploaded and hosted in UEM and deployed over-the-air. This solution requires UEM version 12.11 and later.
