A Psychological Thriller That Pulls No Punches
Recensito negli Stati Uniti il 24 ottobre 2012
First of all I have to say the very second you begin watching Deer Crossing it draws you into its sick and depraved little world. This is not so much a horror film as it is much more than that. It's a psychological thriller that is uniquely disturbing. There are so many intense moments in this film leaving you feeling very uneasy. Writer/Director Christian Grillo pulls no punches in that respect. Just about every scene was superbly crafted as if it was the most important scene in the film.
In regards to the film's cast, there are some seriously stellar performances by some familiar talent including Doug Bradley ("Hellraiser"), Ernie Hudson ("Ghostbusters"), Christopher Mann (HBO's "The Wire" & "Michael Clayton") and Laura Lynn Cottrel ("The Replacements" & "Booley"). However as good as these actors' performances were, I was most impressed by K.J. Linhein who portrays Lukas Walton, the story's main antagonist. To put it simply this character is very evil and very real. There is nothing cerebral or mysterious about him. Lukas Walton is a monster that you will never want to know or ever associate with. Another notable performance is that of Carmela Hayslett who portrays the Child Interrogation Specialist, Olivia Brice. The empathy in her eyes when 14 year old Cole played by Kevin Fennell explains his experience is heart breaking and even the most hardened of souls watching this film can relate to her emotion in this particular scene.
Overall Deer Crossing is a very entertaining film that keeps you enthralled with side stories and some truly twisted twists that culminate very well at the end. There is a sequel in the works which I was excited to hear since there is more to the story of Cavin County that needs to be discovered.

deer crossing dvd is a must have for your collection
Recensito negli Stati Uniti il 28 settembre 2012
Deer Crossing is one of the best movies i have ever seen. Christopher Mann delivers a standout performance as a retired detective working on a eight year old case. A woman Laura Lynn Cottrel as Maggy and her son Kevin Fennell as Cole go missing when she swerves off a dark road to avoid hitting a deer. Her husband Michael desperately tries to find them after a phone call from their son. K.J. Linhein finds them after the accident and holds them captive. K.J. is one of the best villain's because you get this dark sense of humor through him throughout the movie that will keep you captivated. i was highly impressed that Doug Bradley was cast in the movie also know as pinhead in the hellraiser series. my one friend is a huge fan of his. he plays the sheriff. David Michael Folger Jr as Donnie has one of the best scenes i have ever seen played in a movie. he is truly a talented actor that puts in 100 percent into his acting and i look forward to seeing him in upcoming films. there was a scene i loved that put in a lot of humor with K.J., Gail and Randy when Gail and Randy were sitting in the car. that was also one of my favorite scenes. another favorite scene was when this girl was attached to this thing trying to get away from K.J. Linhein screaming and begging for her life saying she would go back before he shot her in the head. i am sorry i don't know her name but look out for that scene because she is a amazing actress. Ernie Hudson who played in the crow tells Carmela Hayslett-Grillo about the case involving Cole. at first Cole doesn't want to talk about all the bad things that went down but Carmela delivers this speech with such fire and passion that makes Cole break down and talk more. Carmela is another actress to watch out for because she is such a talented actress with huge potential that will take her far in her career. i look forward to seeing her in upcoming films as well. this movie will have you on the edge of your seat like a roller coaster ride with so many twists and turns. it will leave chills down your spine in such a great way but you have to buy the movie to see what everyone is raving about. buy deer crossing today and it will be the best thing you ever did. i just saw the edit button and just wanted to add thank you to the director Christian Jude Grillo for making such a great movie for us all to enjoy. i look forward to more of his upcoming films.

A nice trip into hell... beware!
Recensito negli Stati Uniti il 30 settembre 2012
Plain and simple... this movie is brutal. A trip to grandma's house leaves a moter and son in a crash, and swept away by a maniac farmer with pure evil intent. A retired cop traces the steps years ahead to the forbidden country roads in Carvin County, a cesspool of crime and corruption. Nice script and direction by Mr. Potent (Christian Jude Grillo)strong cast of regulars. Christopher Mann is good in the lead, and K.J. Linhein makes a totally evil monster farmer named Luke Walton (get the joke... John Boy). The movie has some intense moments, and some of the actors are just not good (it's all part of low budget films these days) but it works. Doug Bradley (Hellraiser's Pin-Head)is very good as a junkie sheriff and Tom Detrik as a murdering pimp stand out. Very, very rough!
