Prince Harry Is “Fighting” to Stay Connected to His Family and the U.K.

Prince Harry is back in London where he is attending events in honor of the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. Today, Harry is appearing at St. Paul's Cathedral with several relatives of his late mother, Princess Diana, where is he set to give a reading. Harry's wife, Meghan Markle, remains in Los Angeles with their two children, Archie and Lillibet. Her last visit to the U.K. was in 2022 for Queen Elizabeth II's state funeral.

Speaking on Times Radio, royal expert Kinsey Schofield shared thoughts about Harry's current ties to his native country.

“I think that he is fighting — it’s almost like a defiance or a delusion that he wants to continue to have a foot there because that’s where he grew up, that’s his home,” she said. Harry's alleged "fight" to remain connected to his U.K. roots has not been an easy one. Several days ago, it was confirmed that Harry's father, King Charles, has "various appointments and engagements scheduled" and will, therefore, not have the time to see his son during his visit.

Last month, People confirmed the news that Meghan would not be attending the events in London this week. In fact, Harry reportedly almost skipped the trip due to security concerns. "Before deciding whether to attend the Invictus Games anniversary event, his security team must be sure that St. Paul’s is adequately protected by the metropolitan police and his own security needs are met while he’s in London," a source told The Express last month.

Although Meghan didn't join Harry in London, she will be traveling with her husband when he travels to Nigeria. Nigeria's Chief of Defense Staff officially invited the couple to introduce them to the country's culture and to meet with athletes and officials in the hopes that Nigeria might host the Invictus Games in the future.
