Central Park is an American animated sitcom created by Loren Bouchard, Nora Smith, and Josh Gad for Apple TV+. Originally created for the Fox Broadcasting Company, the project was shelved, then licensed to Apple TV+, who ordered the series in 2018.[1] The series debuted on May 29, 2020.[2][3]

On December 3, 2023, Josh Gad revealed that Apple TV+ cancelled the series after three seasons, leaving the series on a cliffhanger.[4]

Premise[]

Central Park tells the story of "a family of caretakers, who live and work in Central Park, end up saving the park, and basically the world."[5]

Main Characters[]

Molly Tillerman[]

Molly is Owen and Paige's biracial daughter. She has a crush on a boy named Brendan she sees often in the park. She also creates her own comics where she is a superhero called Fista-Puffs, where she fights supervillains with her afro-puffs serving as giant arms.

Cole Tillerman[]

Cole is Owen and Paige's biracial son. He's shown to have a passion for animals throughout the show, having an especially deep love for Bitsy's dog Shampagne.

Paige Hunter[]

Paige is Molly and Cole's mother and Owen's wife. She is a journalist who aspires to report bigger news stories.

Owen Tillerman[]

Owen is Molly and Cole's father and Paige's husband. He is the park's manager, loving it above all but his family to the point of which he avoids leaving the park as much as possible.

Bitsy Brandenham[]

Bitsy Brandenham is the owner of the Brandenham Hotel and the main antagonist of the series. She has a deep hatred for Central Park, and makes it her mission to buy and destroy Central Park and sell the land off for commercial housing and businesses. She is also the unknowingly abusive owner of Shampagne, a shi-poo who she considers her heir.

Helen[]

Helen is Bitsy's maid, who has ulterior motives to inherit Bitsy's wealth, often looking for ways to dispose of Shampagne to become heir.

Birdie[]

Birdie is the show's narrator. He's a Central Park busker and often interacts with the Tillermans (mainly Owen and Paige).
