The Aloft Nashville West End hotel offers guests well-received spacious and clean rooms, with its location earning praise for its proximity to downtown attractions minus the hustle and bustle. The live music and amenities such as the gym and bar enhance the lively atmosphere, though the experience with room service and maintenance could be hit or miss. Service levels seem inconsistent, ranging from attentive to neglectful. While opinions on value and cleanliness vary, with some concerns over housekeeping and fees, the hotel nonetheless provides a comfortable stay for many travelers.

This was actually the first time I stayed at an Aloft. Since then, I've realized that it's not really this one location's fault, it's just the chain in general. I didn't realize that they were going for this different type of atmosphere than your typical hotel.

Check in was fine. The staff was friendly. I had high hopes. There was live music in the bar. But, looking around you start to notice that you feel like you're in someone's dorm lobby. There were games and people sitting around playing. I guess that's a good thing for some people....I just found it to be a little strange. The decor is...different. I really don't know how else to describe it other than it felt like a dormitory.

Then we got to our room. How strange! The room itself was really big. Actually it was too big. It was a very large open space without much in it at all. The floors were I believe some kind of manufactured laminate wood or something of that nature and everything echoed. I think we could have invited 20 people into our room to dance on our dance floor. It was very strange. Then there was the bed. Nothing special. The TV. and a big bean bag chair and a mismatched old school alarm clock. Very very strange. The bathroom was odd as well, but not huge.

What a weird place! I don't know what else to say about it other than that I didn't particularly like it. The room was not inviting or cozy or welcoming. It was cavernous and poorly furnished and decorated.

It was clean enough, but I just couldn't get past how odd it was.

As far as location, you have to take a cab down to most of the action or have quite a long walk. Not terrible location. You are close to a really good hot chicken restaurant.

My sister and I chose to stay here for one night in Nashville since we Aloft does not charge pet fees. We were traveling with a cat and a dog. The hotel staff was really great about our pets and they even have dog treats available. Our room was very nice and clean. We stayed at another hotel on our trip that smelled like dog and this place did not! Only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars was the unexpected $28 fee to park or valet in their garage.

Not a fan, at all. Not a business traveler's hotel.
- room is way too dark. Aloft, buy some lamps.
- the nightstand has a clock from 1950... Aloft, how about a RADIO in the rooms in "Music City"?!? Or at least a clock with a smartphone dock for audio speaker hook-up?
- half the room is a "nothing space" without furnishings.
- the showers are "locker room like" with soap and shampoo dispensers on the wall. I don't want to share my toiletries with the last dozen guests and how do I know someone didn't tamper with these products?
- the audio on the TV in my room didn't match the visual. Either a bad TV or bad cable/satellite service. And TV screen too small. Aloft, make a friend at BestBuy.
- my room's sucked. See photo.

I checked out one day earlier. This is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at.

1) Room requested was not provided. The room type reserved was available, however, and we had to request to move rooms. This was after the bellman said he would bring a second luggage rack and did not return for 20 minutes. Then we decided we would go ahead and ask to change rooms. When we stopped to thank the front desk, we showed our confirmation that stated the type of room confirmed, and she indicated that, oh, yes, she could see that on our record! 2) The new room was large, and had only 1 light on each side of the bed and one small lamp on the desk. There was one desk chair and one arm chair in the room. A friend came up after spending the day with us and actually asked if we had turned on all the lights in the room. 3) There were two paper coffee cups and one small plastic cup in the room. For 3 nights, that was all we had. No other cups for drinks at all. 4) We went down to the bar for a drink the first night. Another person at the bar already had a drink. We finally had to ask if there was a bartender on duty or if the bar was self serve - this was after about a 10 minute wait. Drink was well made when we got it. Bartender was nice. 5) Valet service for the car was the best part of the stay.

Excellent hotel. The rooms were very large and clean. Location very close to downtown and the Vanderbilt campus. Actually was about a 4 dollar uber ride to downtown for 3. The staff was very friendly and helpful from the front desk to the valet.
Negatives: Expensive parking, no continental breakfast. We got a good price thru Priceline.

I stayed here for a weekend Bachelorette Party and it was a perfect place to stay. It is only a 5 minute Uber ride to Broadway and all the fun activities. Hattie B's famous hot chicken is around the corner and The Pancake Pantry is a short Uber ride where you might spot a country music star. The staff was very welcoming and always greeted us. The rooms were very spacious and clean. I know my friends and I would all stay here again when we return for a Nashville visit.

We stayed at this hotel in May and it was a basic hotel for basic necessities. I liked how they have a mini-mart of breakfast and afternoon snacks type of thing going near the bar, Staff was friendly. Our room was almost completely clean, some mold growing on the wall, but the place served its purpose. Close to Hattie B's...which has amazing chicken!!!! and not too far from all the honky tonks. You need a car to travel around Nashville and if you do rent one, there is Budget/Avis near by. You don't need to use valet as their street parking is plentiful.

First off, let me say I have stayed in many aLoft hotels. I was excited to know there was one in Nashville as my daughter is attending college in the fall here. We checked in, the lobby was great and the vibe was wonderful. My daughter exclaimed that this would be our home base and how cool it was. we then went to our room and had a totally different experience. Now, we had rented a king suite. It was a king dungeon. It was long, dark, and had a creepy balcony. The room smelled like urine…not pet urine, but human urine. Truly. I tried to not make a big deal about it. Took my daughter to lunch, stopping to buy a candle on the way back. After sending a few pictures of our room to my husband, he said you have to do something. I contacted the front desk, apologizing for seeming bratty. They let me look at another room, but said that the whole hotel was having a problem with an odor??? The room I looked at was more of a dungeon than the one I was staying in, so we passed. We went to dinner, came back, and I decided I couldn't stay for the several days we had planned. We stayed the night and then checked out the next morning. I am really disappointed with the overall condition of the rooms…yucky, don't take your socks off carpet, yucky ceiling, battered baseboards, moldy calking around the sink, and a shower head controller that couldn't be adjusted without moving the whole shower head. At $289, TERRIBLE! I hate to complain and give bad reviews. But we have cancelled all future reservations and are now at another hotel for the remainder of our stay. Starwood needs a total rehab on these hotel rooms!

Great hotel. Their lobby is similar to the W Hotel but without the hipster feel and house music. Free pool table, poker set, Pop art on walls, modern furniture, free wifi and a large work space desk with room 8 and plenty of electrical outlets for all your gadgets, well stocked snack bar, free lemonade(nice on a hot day), small but nice bar. Staff was insanely friendly. Location was a 30 minute walk from downtown(my dad is 2 years removed from double knee replacement surgery so you should be able to beat or match that time). Hotel is near music row and numerous restaurants and bars in West End(Hattie B's for lunch is a must for any fried chicken lover), and Vanderbilt University. Suite 816 was MASSIVE by ant standards. May have lacked luxury but made up for it in comfortability. Balcony had two tables and decent views of Downtown. Two queen beds were super comfy and pillows were heavenly. Bathroom was void of a tub but had the ever popular spacious, walk in shower. Large work area, couch, 42 tv, small walk in closet, and original art on the walls. Only minor complaints: under powered, slightly noisy AC, hate how when you check out your hit with like 3 hidden taxes(increasingly common at many a hotel), and a what seems pricey charge for valet parking in budget friendly Nashville. From other reviews I was skeptical of this hotel but I'd recommend it to all but the pickiest of travelers.

Unless you are under 30, stay away from this location. We stayed 2 nights with 2 teenagers and even they would not stay there again! Dormlike, smelled, not clean and inexperienced staff, except for the valet. The room had a new sofa sleeper in it, but when I asked if there was bedding in the room for the sleeper, I was told they don't do that. I could request that extra linens be sent up and make the bed myself. In addition to that, we had no TV, along with most of the hotel. Not compensated for! AND, when we left for the day, the do not disturb tag was on the inside of the door. When we arrived back to the room at 11:30 at night, we found someone had added an additional do not disturb tag to the outside of our door. Because of the sign, housekeeping left a note under the door saying that they do not clean rooms with the do not disturb tags on them. It took forever to get fresh towels for the following morning and there was no one there to clean the room. Don't know who left the extra tag on our door, but the staff insisted it was us.

This place is a mess! They need a new manager and someone to come in and teach the housekeeping crew how to clean. There is no way this should be a category 4 Starwood facility!

No pool that I saw. I'm back in Nashville right now and am at the Hampton Inn a couple thousand yards down the street. It does have an outdoor pool plus free breakfast, free parking and a lower rate. But less hip.

The hotel does not offer a shuttle. We currently partner with Uber and hotel guests who are new to Uber can receive a credit up to $20. This is a promotion we hope to keep going in the future. Phil Zawadzki General Manager Aloft Nashville West End
