Everyone loves pizza. You can't avoid it. There is a pizza parlor on every block. Thin crust, deep dish, Chicago, New York, Detroit, St. Louis, California, Miami/Cuban, Milan, Neapolitan, Hawaiian, Sicilian, Roman, Margherita, Greek, even Quad City. Everybody boasts that they produce the best pizza in town. Every newspaper and magazine and food critic authors a "10 best pizza" contest. But who does make the best pizza? Ask 10 people and you'll get 10 different answers. Over the years, I thought I had found the best on a few occasions. Two of them went out of business. One thing I have learned: No two pizzas are alike. Sample any number of pizzas and all of them have a different taste, a different texture, more tomato, less tomato, more cheese, less cheese, some chewier than others. tangy meat, not-so-tangy meat. And I'm not even talking about pizza with such ingredients as anchovy, pineapple, broccoli, pepperoni, black olives, green peppers, mushrooms and onions. All I want is a large thin crust cheese and sausage pizza -- with extra sausage. In my view, Lou Malnati does it better than anyone else. I order delivery from Malnati's Gold Coast Pizzeria at 1120 North State Street. Cut into small three-bite squares, Malnati's pizza features a chewy, soft crust with just enough tomato sauce and cheese to satisfy my taste. And, strange as it may sound, it offers a taste unlike any pizza I have ever tasted. I can't get enough of it. And delivery is fast, too, like the pizza just came out of the oven.

Stopped here for my first meal on a Chicago visit. The lunch special was a good value, and the pizza was outstanding. The service was great too.

I wasn’t planning on liking this pizza but I did. My wife and I went here to try Chicago deep dish for the first time. I was warned that it is very different from what I might be used to. It was. It’s very thick and saucy. We ordered a small original with a salad. (Plenty of food for 2). I really enjoy it. Don’t go thinking you’re eating thin crust and you’ll enjoy your dinner.

While in Chicago you’ve gotta get the Chicago deep dish pizza ...... Well we did. It was good. More greasy than our western style ... Very limited selection (2 kinds) but I guess that is what you get in this part of the country.. Very good though!! And the cheesy bread was excellent. 2017

The Malnati's WORLD FAMOUS. Pizza place. Disappointed us. I came in at 12 and sitting from an hour. Already placed the order. They just did the water service and then disappeared.. what the heck. I got the suggestion for this place from a dear friend of mine. But I am cursing her along with the restaurant management now. The WORLD FAMOUS DEEP DISH PIZZA PLACE failed to serve us.

Would not order from this location. Ordered a pizza at 527 PM and 2 hours later it has still not arrived. When asked why the pizza was late they said we would have to talk to the app programmers in order to get an answer for this. Did not offer an apology or anything to make up for this.

Great deep dish pizza and salad. Smells so wonderful when you walk in. Their house salad dressing is so good, I bought a bottle to take home back to Las Vegas. The pizza was cooked perfectly. Although it is deep dish, the crust is still thin, buttery, and crispy. Another Chicago must do, and would highly recommend. Our server was on point and extremely friendly. Would highly recommend and would definitely return.

We had lunch here as it was near our hotel and were really happy with the food and service. The three cheese bread is amazing and our pasta dishes were so tasty although very large!

Local chain serving up Chicago style deep dish pizza. Service was a bit slow, and it was a long wait for the pizza. The pizza was delicious although a bit too soupy to my liking. Definitely one of the best places for deep dish pizza in Chicago but from my standpoint, can't say that this is the best. The beauty of deep-dish pizza in Chicago is that there are many options, and everyone has their own tastebuds on what is "best"

October 2023! Chicago Marathon Where is best to load up on Carbs well.here we have it! A good friend of ours had recommended this joint for deep dish pizza to us and it happened to be just down the road from our hotel! We wandered in early of a Friday evening and it was very quite! We were seated straight away and given menus by Angela! Angela came for our order shortly after and we ordered the personal deep dish and small deep dish! Angela gave us the heads up that pizza was about 30 mins behind but we didn't mind it's a lovely location! So we got our pizza and I swear since I came back to Ireland I'm still thinking about the pizza It was Amazing! But like a personal would have done between the 2 of us defo! We certainly left some behind & the chips we totally did not need! Angela was the nicest server and so friendly she totally made our visit more enjoyable! All in it worked out at about $49! Plus it was so good we came back on the Sunday night with family Wait was crazy but soooo worth it! Go visit!

We didn’t like it, “Lou’s special” not enough cheese and flooded with tomatoes toppings and as well under crust runny water. It didn’t meet our expectation's, but anyway people have different taste bud.

Stay away. Went at a random time on a weekday after arriving in Chicago for our first visit here. Was told 40 minutes for a wait, 2 hours later we were at a table. The hostess told us we couldn’t pre-order, another hostess told us we could so we did hoping it would save some time. No time saved. They don’t put your order in until you sit at table anyway. Pizza was not hot, not deep dish (except the crust) so disappointing for a first meal in Chicago. Encountered some very rude staff as well. Go anywhere else for deep dish pizza.

We visited: The 410 n Michigan Ave Chicago il 60611 location! MGT named Fritz! We were a family of 9. First time in Chicago. We were told this was the place to go for deep dish. Upon arrival the hostess attitude was horrible. She was not interested in really seating us as she avoided us because they apparently were closing in an hour. We finally got seated. We ordered a thin crust, because we were told there was not enough time to make a deep dish. Long story short, I ordered a drink, they came back and said they ran out. I ordered a 2nd drink, they came back and said they ran out of that too. I order a rootbeer, it was flat and when I asked for a coke instead. Well that took 15 mins! Then the pizza came and it was COMPLETELY wrong! On top of that, the server said okay this is what you ordered. We said no it is not and review your order. The server NEVER came back. We asked for manager and he was nice, apologized for the issue, said he would bring us a card and a $50 sorry and come back card. As their culture would have it, he never came back and we finally left the venue. THIS WAS A REALLY BAD Experience! AVOID AT ALL COST!!
