Hey, I just built a new pc and I've been having a problem with my explorer for the past couple weeks. Basically, whenever I launch almost any windows app (most commonly this happens with calculator) My explorer freezes for 5-10 seconds, I can't alt-tab, I can't use the task bar at all, it's just frozen, windows button doesn't work during these 5-10 seconds either until it unfreezes.
I've tried sfc /scannow but thats the only thing I know how to do, I have no idea how else to troubleshoot this because I haven't found a similar problem online, and the "tech blogs" that pop up aren't much help.

try DISM scan, there are guides online.

reviving this because I just had this happen with calculator. Solution was as follows.
Thank you so much, this was driving me insane with it freezing on startup, practically making my computer feel like a potato!
